User:FishingKing/OpVantage 2012[edit]

This is a badly-written duplicate of the Counter Vandalism Unit and possesses so much of that militarism that was recently swept out of the CVU. I also have significant competency concerns. Keilana|^{Parlez ici} 21:33, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't a copy of the CVU as I'm a member of the CVU! It is simply a small anti-vandalism sweep by myself and a colleague. I didn't propose to set up some big group FishingKiing - Waging War On Wiki Vandals (talk) 21:41, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I'm The Colleague and we did not try to Make A Big Group Just A Mini-Anti Vandalism Project. Number Two You Claimed It is a badly written Duplicate of Counter Vandalism Unit, Well it is not nice to say it is badly-Written which is not nice. Delete Agree with Keilana. This is a page created with good intentions but by new users who need to learn their way here first. I seriously doubt their current understanding of WP:VANDAL. This OP will only bring out speedy reckless reverts of good faith edits and would ultimately get these new users blocked for disruptive editing. This page was created in the first place as the new users misbehaved with the instructors of WP:CVUA--DBig Xray 05:51, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - This user page generally falls under WP:STALEDRAFT's, "Userspace is also not a substitute for project space (Wikipedia:...), nor should a userspace page be used as primary documentation for any Wikipedia policy, guideline, practice, or established concept." As near as I can tell, WP:UP's restrictions on this are 1. "Short-term hosting of ... other reasonable content under development ... is usually acceptable." and (2) "If your user page related to the project becomes widely used or linked in project space, or has functional use similar to a project page, consider ... merging it with other similar pages already existing there." This user space WikiProject was started on 18 June 2012 by FishingKing, who's been with Wikipedia since ‎7 May 2012 and who's very first post to Wikipedia reads,

"Operation Eagle Fire currently in progress Aim of this operation is to hunt and eliminate all wikipefia vandals"[1]
In some sense, the user page User:FishingKing/OpVantage 2012 could be seen as a user essay commenting on what FishingKing perceives as a militant and quota system of the WikiProject Counter Vandalism Unit. However, the trouble with the page comes in listing a first user on that user page page as a vandal "so we can watch Them" and a second user as a notable "Vandals Who Vandalize Repeateddly". That violates WP:UP#POLEMIC, and the user page seems to be set up to receive additional posts that vilify editors as well as go against Wikipedia:Deny recognition. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 07:13, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
