User:Chetblong/Userboxes/User Maggie L. Walker Governor's School[edit]

We don't need minors self-identifying what school they go to. The one page this template is used on, the user identifies himself as a 14 year old at this school. This is a huge potential liability issue. -Nard 16:11, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Yes, this is a gigantic potential liability issue. College userboxes are fine, "former student" userboxes are mostly fine, but "currently attending high school, here's the street address" (it's in the linked article) is Bad Bad Bad. For the record, I'd suggest privacy-blanking this discussion after it concludes. Gavia immer (talk) 16:17, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This is the last thing Wikipedia needs, and as the above said, it's a huge potential liability. Alloranleon (talk) 16:21, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, per Wikipedia is not a governess. It's up to parents to monitor their kids' behavior and provide for their safety, not us. If they don't like the info their kid is posting on the internet, they can take away the keyboard (and/or tell their child to go out to the backyard and bring back a tree limb suitable for spanking). • Comment lol. Very nice, but that's hardly a realistic expectation, especially given that the user's parents probably aren't aware of this... Alloranleon (talk) 08:13, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, too much of a liability; we don't need minors publicly posting information on what grade schools they attend and, indirectly, the addresses of those schools. --Coredesat 23:31, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I gladly agree to the deletion of this if it's against Wikipedia policy, as a matter of fact I'll put a speedy deletion tag on it right now. Consider this case closed. --ChetblongTalkSign 02:29, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
