Template talk:RfA/Stat[edit]

This is another "voting" template for RFA's. I think we all know that RFA is not a vote and as such, sticking "vote numbers" just like CNN on election night seems to promote strict vote counting over discussion. As such I am proposing it for deletion here -- Tawker 23:57, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Per Wikipedia:Consensus, "simple vote-counting should never be the key part of the interpretation of a debate". The template also gives the appearance that a bureaucrat's role is minimized. --Interiot 00:11, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. We already have Tangobot and Dragonbot to turn to for statistical analysis. It's enough. We shouldn't put too much emphasis on vote counting. This also goes in opposition to recent discussions about the benefits (or lack thereof) of having too many "counts" on or about any given RfA. It takes attention away from what's really at stake on RfA. Redux 00:21, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • If that wasn't enough, it's also quite an unattractive and confusing way to present the numbers, and it has dreaded cutesy icons. Full marks to the author for clever template authoring, but... Delete. ++Lar: t/c 00:24, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Is there an obvious reason the talk page is nominated for deletion, not the template? bKeep until the template is deleted at WP:TFD. Kusma (討論) 08:07, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. The template either doesn't exist or was already deleted. Dere ain't one. Badbilltucker 21:37, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
