Template:User in Southwest Asia

Southwest Asia and Western Asia are synonymous, see the article. I suggest blanking and redirecting this UBX to {{User in Western Asia}}. Soumya-8974 (he) ^talk _contribs ^subpages 08:14, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that after checking that no one is using this, that you WP:BOLDly redirect this UBX to {{User in Western Asia}}. There is no need to get a formal consensus at MfD. Indeed, it is undesirable to seek consensus here, because it takes moderate work to examine all possibilities. If you just do it boldly, a later discovered problem means that it can be simply undone. Keep because it's perfectly plausible that a user may want to identify as being from SW Asia specifically (I know at least one person in real life who uses that term in place of "Middle East"), and the presence of the separate template for that purpose is doing no harm. Whether SW Asia and "Western Asia" are synonymous is frankly subjective (I personally would consider at least Iran, Anatolia, and Transcaucasia to belong to the latter but not to the former), and while our article must present the view most common in RS, we as editors are not required to share those same opinions.
