The result of the discussion was Delete. Template has already been substituted in its only really applicable location. GlassCobra 17:43, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason for this template to exist as only two people would ever have it (legitimately) on their userpage: User:Jimbo Wales and User:Larry Sanger. Anyone else who places it on their userpage is doing so to be disruptive or to blatantly mislead people who may not know any better. As the template can only be used legitimately in two places, it should be deleted. --···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 00:18, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not. Founder is a meaningless term just like an edit count. It isn't like Admin or Bureaucrat where there are actual Wikipedia powers and responsibilities associated with it.DaiZengarSmite evil 01:11, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This nomination is exactly what I state it to be above. It wasn't done to make a point, regardless of what you think. Your substitution of the template on your userpage might be considered POINTy, however. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 02:21, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Or could the text be changed to "This user helped to found Wikipedia"? --Footyfanatic3000 (talk  · contribs) 17:39, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For "founder" to be correct, they would need to be there and play a part in starting the site. There were only two people who did that. "Founder" has a very specific meaning, and broadening it to mean anyone who was around or who happened by after the site was founded is an incorrect usage of the word. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 03:57, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
