Portal:Yoga[edit]

Portal:Yoga (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Old-style manual portal, with no automated version. It works fine, but its limited scope of 8 selected yogis and 10 selected articles (see Special:PrefixIndex/Portal:Yoga) is way less than the comprehensive set of key topics listed in the head article Yoga and its three navboxes {{Yoga}}, {{Modern yoga}}, {{Asanas}}.

The head article is therefore a much better navigational hub, and the portal is a WP:REDUNDANTFORK. Readers clearly agree: only 10 pageviews per day for the portal, versus 4,155 per day for the head article. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 00:01, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - This appears to be an unmaintained portal, whose originator is semi-active. Accepting the analysis of BHG. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:24, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete inferior to the head article which readers obviously prefer. The reader lured by the portal link on Yoga will quickly find a way back to the actual article. Legacypac (talk) 04:00, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - agree with nom; after all, the purpose of main articles with wikilinks is to facilitate understanding and navigation of whole topics. The rationale of course extends to all portals, automated or not. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:18, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Old portal, 50 subpages, created 2012-12-01 18:04:47 by User:OrenBochman. A comment by a maintainer, if any, could make the day. Portal:Yoga. Pldx1 (talk) 09:26, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. I wrote the article on Modern yoga, rewrote Asana and brought it to GA status, and have rewritten around 100 asana and related articles. I see no value in the portal. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:27, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
