Portal:Paleozoic[edit]

Portal:Paleozoic (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Out-of-date portal using never-updated copies of articles from 2014.

Portal:Paleozoic/Natural world articles Evolutionary history of life, bacteria, archaea, fungus, virus. These are all great articles no doubt, but what is their association with the Paleozoic? Damselflies came about 100 Ma too late for the Paleozoic. Not relevant.

Portal:Paleozoic/Science, culture, and economics articles has a paleontology theme but doesn't have much to do at all with the Paleozoic per se.

Portal:Paleozoic/Quality hasn't been updated since 2015. Two of the FAs have since been demoted. Schierbecker (talk) 04:22, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Single-digit pageviews, unmaintained. Scope might be too small for a portal anyway - perhaps anything worth merging is better a part of Portal:Geology? (Since geologists are the main people who care about the pre-Quaternary eras... and that portal still only manages ~30 daily views despite a much wider scope...) • Delete - This portal was created Aug. 2013 by an editor who edits sporadically, and has had no recent maintenance. This portal, like most older portals, has an architecture in which the displayed articles are partial copies of the selected articles, and thus are content forks which are not updated when the articles are updated. The portal had an average of 5 daily pageviews in 2023, while the main article had an average of 767 daily pageviews. It can be seen that hardly anyone is using the portal, and hardly anyone ever has used the portal, and it does not reflect updates to the encyclopedia.
