Portal:Macau[edit]

Another abandoned-for-a-decade static page.

This was created in September 2006‎ by Leungli (talk · contribs), who hasn't edited since 2008.

Special:PrefixIndex/Portal:Macau shows that it has

4 selected image pages, all untouched for over ten years
Portal:Macau/Did you know, which lat had a new addition in 2007[1]
Portal:Macau/Selected article, with only minor tweaks since 2007[2]
Portal:Macau/Macau news, which last had any new content in February 2008‎, and was so outdated that in 2016 User:Wishva de Silva wisley stripped out everything except a picture of a clock[3]

WP:POG#How_often_to_update? says that unless automated, the content selection should be updated monthly, or preferably weekly. Even on a monthly cycle, this pseudo-portal has missed over 130 consecutive updates, and it is time to stop wasting the time of readers by luring them to this abandoned draft.

Macau may be a broad enough topic to support a portal, but WP:POG guides that portals should be about "broad subject areas, which are likely to attract large numbers of interested readers and portal maintainers". This one has never even been properly built, never mind attracting maintainers. Time to stop waiting for Godot.

So I propose that this portal and its sub-pages be deleted per WP:TNT, without prejudice to recreating a curated portal in accordance with whatever criteria the community may have agreed at that time. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 19:24, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
