List of euphemisms[edit]

List of euphemisms (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

An article under this title was first deleted in 4 August 2005 as seen in the AfD discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of euphemisms. The public log shows that content under this title was deleted numerous times in 2005 and again in 2006. Shearonink (talk) 05:35, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please make it clearer for other editors. It appears that Mr. Guye just created List of euphemisms as a redirect to Euphemism, so the nomination is to delete the redirect? Johnuniq (talk) 05:58, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, since the actual article "List of euphemisms" was put up for an AfD and the vote was delete, it seemed to me that the redirect should be deleted as a MfD instead of an RfD since the title & article have already been deleted. If you have a better idea about where to place this deletion nomination feel free to correct my efforts. Shearonink (talk) 06:24, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that an article with the same title has previously been deleted is not relevant (it would be relevant if it were a recreation with similar text). I cannot see any reason for a redirect with this title to exist, except that if an external website has a link to "list of euphemisms" (the old article), having this redirect might be helpful. However, I cannot see a reason for the redirect to not exist (and none has been advanced), so now that it is clarified I'm happy for others to say where this discussion should be, and what outcome is recommended. • Keep may as well keep this, WP:RFD is the real place to discuss redirects. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:45, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I tried to figure out where this deletion nomination should go. I was thinking since the article itself didn't exist then the Redirect should go under MfD. I don't know how to proceed...get this nomination closed and then open a discussion at RfD? I would suppose having two deletion nominations going at the same time is probably against WP protocol/guidelines so if someone else knows how to proceed, please help me out here. • What you can do is withdraw this nomination, by stating that you withdraw, or striking out your nomination. I probably should have just close this with wrong venue. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:59, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
