Hurricane ACE calcs
[edit]
These should be deleted per Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tropical_cyclones/Archive_43#RFC:_ACE_Calcs which decided that ACE calculations were a violation of WP:OR since they involve editors making multiple calculations for each ACE value rather than simple addition which itself was allowable by WP:CALC. The RfC decided to defer to reliable sources that make such calculations. These pages should be deleted since they perpetuate the WP:OR. NoahTalk 12:26, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete — these pages used to serve as the basis for manual calculation of accumulated cyclone energy, but are now obsolete / unused following consensus that those computations constitute original research. At present, they are essentially copies of raw tropical cyclone data provided elsewhere and serve no function. —TheAustinMan(Talk ⬩ Edits) 18:14, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and TheAustinMan. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 08:32, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- Keep per the same reasoning in the recently closed Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Talk:2023 Atlantic hurricane season/ACE calcs. --Spiffy sperry (talk) 03:52, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- withdraw because I recently learned OR doesn’t apply outside the main space and such content is only prohibited in articles.
