Draft:Translating Gender binary into german[edit]

Draft:Translating Gender binary into german (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Misplaced "draft" which isn't intended as an article submission, but as a translation from English into another language of an article that already exists on EN. This isn't what draftspace on EN is for: if the creator wants to translate our article into German for the purposes of adding it to the German Wikipedia, they need to do that on the German Wikipedia rather than here. • Disagree that translation work needs to be located on foreign Wikipedias. Translating articles between the many different language Wikipedias is a WMF stated goal, and must be welcomed everywhere to facilitate it everywhere. That said, there are ways to clean up the work pages, such as redirecting or soft redirecting to the translated article. I think translation work belongs better in userspace, and support userfying this draft. Where multiple editors get involved over the long term, so that it is no longer clearly suitable for userspace, the work should be done on the talk page of the translated article, which would be at the foreign Wikipedia. However, note that when translating a foreign article to English, it makes sense to translate first at the foreign Wikipedia if you want input for foreign language editors. The same applies in reverse. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:17, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Userfying is reasonable. It may be of useful reference or memory to the author, but it not useful for anyone else. Invite the author to CSD#U1/G7 at will. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:03, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Userfy. Might be better in de:, but suggest giving benefit of the doubt in userspace. It is an article on en: already translated into several languages but not de:. While the editing history is suggestive of abandonment (edited by only one editor, over 2 days, 2 months ago, and not touched since, let's not be hasty.
