Draft:Jimmy Roberts (saxophonist) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Declined 3 times for lack of notablity and waiting for review again. Is this a lost cause? Legacypac (talk) 06:51, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep WP:NMFD; not terribly likely they will be able to convince an AFCer that it meets WP:BASIC but not impossible either. There appear to be earnest attempts at improvement between each submission so I do not see any reason take the exceptional step of bringing it here. VQuakr (talk) 08:16, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to know what is the specific reason of suggesting deletion of this article. NataliaWozniak (talk) 18:33, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:NataliaWozniak I observed that your creation was declined 3 times. There have been discussions about how many times we will decline pages before seeking deletion. It is common to seek deletion on pages that are submitted over and over but not approved. Exposing the page to more editors should give some more opinions and either determine the page is a lost cause or it should be promoted to mainspace. Comments like the first response above do nothing to help the page move forward or deturmine it is a lost cause, which wastes your time and the reviewer time. @NataliaWozniak: drafts are not intended to be permanent: they are routinely deleted after six months of inactivity. Drafts are also routinely deleted if an editor is repeatedly submitting them to AfC without improving them at all. Neither of those criteria apply here, but practically speaking each time the draft is resubmitted without clearly meeting the golden rule (as noted in the AfC reviewers' responses in this draft), the probability increases that someone will suggest that Wikipedia would be better off overall were it deleted. • Keep for now, but give the author 6 months. If the musician is notable, the draft can establish notability within 6 months. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:33, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
