Request details[edit]

The opening paragraph of American Revolution has recently been tagged for a re-write. I would like a determination if that is necessary and, if so, some parameters for it.

Where is the dispute?[edit]

Lead

Who is involved?[edit]

Just a list of the users involved. For example:

What is the dispute?[edit]

There has been some talk on the discussion board, mostly by one editor, that claims the introduction/lead lacks historical concensus. However, it seems that the introduction contains facts that are well known and/or supported by the rest of the article, and are consistant with the terms Wikified in the section. An apparantly different editor is now asking for a re-write.

What would you like to change about this?[edit]

The lead seems chronological, consitant with the terms wikified, and includes the main concepts and events. The facts are historical, and are borne out by the rest of the article. Not sure what else is necessary that would require a re-write.

How do you think we can help?[edit]

A fresh look by some impartial editors, particularly those without any pre-concieved notions on the subject, would probabaly be very helpful. At a minimum, some opinions as to the necessity of a complete re-write would be welcome.

Mediator notes[edit]

Due to the length of time this case sat idle, I am canvassing parties to see if a desire for mediation still exists. Manning (talk) 05:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
