[edit]Basically, there is a dispute over the historical creator of Chinese Shaolin Martial arts. Modern day scholarship has disproven the commonly held claim that the Buddhist Saint Bodhidharma created the style (Please see the martial arts section of his article and the history section of the Shaolin page for more info). Anyway, User:Borvestmino keeps on adding material to the article's info box that states Bodhidharma based it on the ancient Indian Art of Kalarippayattu. He has done the reverse on the the Kalarippayattu page.
I (Ghostexorcist) and User:Egative rlt have provided the names of several authors that have dispoven the legend in scholarly journals and books. However, Borvestmino has provided no evidence of his own other than his opinion that the two martial arts look the same. On top of that, he is being uncivil by claiming that my evidence is just "Chinese patriotism." He has already been given a 3RR warning. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 09:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
What would you like to change about this?
[edit]For the time being, I would at least like the erroneous material removed from the two pages without Borvestmino reverting it. Other than that, I would like the material to stay off the page since it is incorrect.
How do you think we can help?
[edit]I would like an admin to force him to produce evidence that somehow refutes the journal papers and books written by credentialed University professors and Martial arts historians. I can easily present scans of pages from said journals and books. If User:Borvestmino cannot produce the necessary evidence, I would at least like for an admin to explain that the info cannot be included in the pages without support. If he continues to push his view on the page, then the appropriate steps can be taken by the admins.
