Where is the issue taking place?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Gathering
Who's involved?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Oceankat
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lookingheart
What's going on?
Lookingheart is attempting to advertise small local gatherings he is involved in by adding them to a list of national rainbow gatherings. He has refused to enter into discussion of this issue or to answer any of my questions as to what constitutes a national gathering as compared to a local gathering.
NOTE, what is written above is one person's opinion of the situation in which oceankat fails to mention that there are ongoing discussions [[1]] and counsel's on the land. Instead of operating within a cooperative consensus model, oceankat simply deletes content written by other users of the Wiki. Lookingheart
What would you like to change about that?
I would like the list of national rainbow gatherings to only have those gatherings that are truely national included in the listing.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
I prefer open discussion.

Compromise offers[edit]

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.

I have offered a compromise where Lookingheart's events are listed as local gatherings which I am willing to accept though I do not support it. It will eventually lead to several hundred local gatherings being listed. Gatherings as small as 10 people as well as some which will never take place. This has long been a problem with sites that host calenders of rainbow events. People list their event in the hope that it will happen but often there isn't enough willing workers to pull it off and the event never happens.
Realize that these are not my events and that they are not local, regional affairs but an expansion of Rainbow Ideologies. If you would like to build a seperate and special section on the Wiki specific for the A Gathering of the Tribes I would be more then glad to help you with such an endeavor. This is a much better solution then you just deleting whatever you feel like which is very disrespectful to the work others are providing on the site. Lookingheart

Discussion[edit]

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

...................

Lookingheart here. The "A Gathering of the Tribes" is/are bonifide Annual Rainbow Gatherings that are happening Nationally. Counsels for the A Gathering of the Tribes are held openly on the land with the invitation going out well in advance, in short these gatherings are focalized by Rainbow Family individuals who have counseled and decided to follow their own path and heartsongs. These gatherings came about in 2003 after certain individuals of responsibility within the Rainbow Family (claimed Elders / Founders) started signing permits and changing the nature of the gatherings here in the United States. These alternative to the permit gatherings are intended as an expansion of Rainbow ideologies while trying to maintain some measure of unity and respect with the various same type gatherings. For more information on the A Gathering of the Tribes I would suggest that you review content listed on the website located at [[2]]
I think it worthy to note that in 2005, Annual Rainbow Family council gave a blessing to expanded gatherings. Many focalizers across the United States and elsewhere are well informed that these particular gatherings are evolving and are in their infancy. It is a simple truth that these gatherings are happening and are part of the Rainbow Family heritage. As cultural changes happen so does the history.
My suggestion to oceankat would be to act in a more appropriate manner and humble himself to the fact that Rainbow gatherings are starting to expand. This expansion is diversified and should be celebrated as Rainbow is many things to many people. If oceankat can not respect the heartsong of others then I suggest counsel on the land at one of the A Gathering of the Tribes as this is where Rainbow usually reaches consensus in these types of matters.
