Potentially violates WP:NFCC#2 without the watermark. Watermark was removed, but WP:WATERMARK doesn't seem to apply to non-free images. Disputed in the past so I'm bringing this to FfD to facilitate discussion. funplussmart (talk) 21:04, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

delete - clearly violates fair use policy: the article where the image is used is not about the photograph in question, and it is very easy for a wikipedian produce exactly similar photo; as WP:GETTY says "provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image". - Altenmann >talk 23:48, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unclear how you figured that Distracted boyfriend isn't about this exact image, because it absolutely is Notice how the first sentence of the lead mentions a "2015 stock photograph by Spanish photographer Antonio Guillem." That is this photo. And other meme articles such as Bad Luck Brian have used relevant non-free images for years, so I wouldn't call this a clear violation at all. In fact, I don't think it's a violation at all. Can't speak to the watermark issue, but I am opposed to deletion. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 11:23, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. It meets all of the WP:NFCCP. I'm not aware of any policy requiring watermarking in fair use images. The image's low resolution makes it an unlikely candidate for reuse by copyright infringers. - Eureka Lott 20:14, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
