No freedom of panorama for 2D graphic works or text in Malta. Image is not used anywhere. Ixfd64 (talk) 18:39, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Not a freely licensed file (in the US). No prejudice to restoration if someone can create a valid fair use claim for the file. -FASTILY 01:51, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File:Meacham 50th Anniversary Color 002.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Jpg1954 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This image may be PD in the UK, but it would not be PD in the US until 95 years after publication in 1935 since its UK copyright term extended beyond 1996. It is currently in use on Spike Hughes and Wendy Wood (artist); at the former page, a crop would probably suffice as a minimal non-free illustration, and on the latter page it is used together with another non-free image, a 1932 drawing of the subject. This drawing seems to be licensed under CC-BY-NC at the source, which may be a consideration regarding WP:FREER. Felix QW (talk) 20:30, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Meacham 50th Anniversary is also used on the pages Battiscombe Gunn ( both a cropped version and the full image), J. B. Gunn (full image).
If I replaced them (as well as Wendy Wood and Pat (aka Spike) Hughes) with cropped versions (though they would be a bit grainy), would that make it acceptable? Jpg1954 (talk) 18:23, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The only remaining issue would be that both J. B. Gunn and Wendy Wood (artist) already have free(er) media illustrating the subject, which could make it difficult to meet WP:NFCC. However, I am not an expert on non-free content policy. Felix QW (talk) 18:40, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since British copyright expired after 1996, the URAA restored US copyright in this image. Its current use is with a list including the subject, so I doubt whether it would qualify for non-free use. Felix QW (talk) 21:27, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
