This is using various Microsoft emoji images (eg. https://emojipedia.org/microsoft/windows-11-22H2/shark/). Not clear from the file description whether the uploader is claiming to have created the image using emoji based on information in the cited source paper (it's paywalled), or that the whole image is taken from the paper, but I don't see any evidence that Microsoft have released their emoji set as public domain: neither the uploader nor paper writer could have released these emoji under a CC-Attribution licence. Belbury (talk) 11:21, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment the uploader has overwritten the file with new files that don't contain emoji. Regardless, this is a very badly named file, and needs renaming; since the current name is uselessly vague. -- 65.92.244.151 (talk) 06:02, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Licensed for Wikipedia use only is not allowed per c:COM:Licensing. Better files at c:Category:Coracias benghalensis and they don't have any dubious licensing. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:18, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. The copyright holder (i.e. the uploader) explicitly relicensed this photo to be compatible with requirements for image uploads. The notice in the image "for Wikipedia use only" is null and void, and should be ignored in light of the extremely explicit notices in the various licenses the uploader agreed to license the photo under. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 02:53, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
delete Recovered my login, the above comment is mine. I'm the photographer for this photo, I got an email about this message. I think you should delete this and use a much better image that is available. The photo was take ages ago and the quality of some recent photos are much better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayanths (talkcontribs) 03:29, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This file appears to be below TOO. --Matr1x-101 {user page @ commons - talk - contribs} 16:25, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to go with keep locally as non-free. This is probably above c:COM:TOO UK, which is very, very low, and that's the relevant criterion that Commons will apply here. As for why it should be non-free on EnWiki, it's because the file appears to be borderline under the U.S. TOO and I'm inclined to say that it is over the TOO in the USA. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 02:50, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment CGP Grey is an American, running an American broadcast/podcast/stream/whatever. Why does it matter what UK law says? It shouldn't have been deleted off COMMONS for any reason regarding UK law, since it should be covered under US law. Otherwise, any law anywhere in the world would result in deletion of most of what's on Commons. -- 65.92.244.151 (talk) 06:07, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
CGP Grey lives in the UK, which is most likely where he was when he published the image. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 14:34, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fails WP:NFCC #8 - while the monograph is important to the subject, knowing what the monograph looks like isn't contextually significant for understanding the subject. Hog Farm Talk 17:26, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the file should be deleted for failing that criterion. If there were an article on the monograph itself, it would make sense, but I don't see how a non-free image of a book is warranted here. Also, since the individual passed away in 1995, shouldn't the primary visual means of identification (should we desire to use one) be a photo of Johnson? — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 02:47, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
