EXIF indicates this has been copied from Facebook. OTRS confirmation would be needed that the uploader is the copyright holder. Whpq (talk) 02:16, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • No i pictured that, that is mine bruh. The pan is ours, and you can even see the background of kalan.Ice bear johny (talk) 02:33, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • If you took the photo, then Wikipedia is going to need to be provided with some way of verifying that. The Exif data for the photo is of the type that is usually associated with images found on Facebook. If you took the photo, first uploaded to Facebook and then downloaded it from Facebook to re-upload to Wikipedia, then Wikipedia needs some way to verify that. The easiest ways to do this are explained in c:COM:OTRS#Licensing images: when do I contact OTRS?, but basically you should email your WP:CONSENT to Wikipedia OTRS so that your copyright ownership can be verified.
Since you seem to be a WP:YOUNG editor, you probably shouldn't post any links to your Facebook account here on this page or anywhere else on Wikipedia, but you should include such a link to the external website where the photo can be seen on Facebook, etc. in your email to OTRS for license verification purposes. Another option for you might be to request that this file be deleted per WP:G7 and then re-upload the same photo to Wikimedia Commons with the original Exif data intact (i.e. download it straight from your camera to your computer and then re-upload it to Commons). You can use the "OTRS release generator" explained here to verify that you're the copyright holder of the photo. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:48, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • I just cropped some of the sides for it to be umm "socially acceptable". But my mom really took the picture to share it to our relatives. Ice bear johny (talk) 04:34, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • That technically makes your mom, not you, the copyright holder which means that Wikipedia is going to need her WP:CONSENT. One thing that you (and most likely your mom) is not aware of is that when you upload a photo to Wikipedia under the license you've chosen or under any of the free licenses that Wikipedia accepts is that you're basically giving permission to anyone anywhere in the world to download the photo at anytime and use it for any purpose, even if that means in a way that you don't like or in a way that is used to make somebody other than you and your mom some money. The types of free licenses accepts don't limit re-use to Wikipedia only or for non-commercial purposes only. You may be able to claim such things when you upload photos to other websites like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or Instagram, etc., but you can't when you upload files to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:00, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • No it's ok to use Cc-by-sa-3.0 because we're not hiding any secrets whatsoever. Lmao i asked her if she concedes and she sounded flabbergasted haha.

  • I live in Pangasinan ok. However if you really want to delete fine. I won't contest otherwise. Have a good day— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ice bear johny (talkcontribs) 02:37, 4 October 2020 (UTC+9) (UTC)
    • It's not really a question of whether Whpq really wants to delete the file or where you live, but rather that there's no information provided to verify that the file was (1) taken by you as the uploader or (2) taken by someone else and has been released under the license you've uploaded it under. The file's Exif data shows is similar to the type of Exif data seen for files originally uploaded Facebook, download to a personal computer, and then re-uploaded to Wikipedia. If you took the photo, uploaded to Facebook, downloaded it to your computer, and then re-uploaded it to Wikipedia, then Wikipedia is going to need some way to verify that. You can do this by following the instructions given in c:COM:OTRS#Licensing images: when do I contact OTRS? so that Wikipedia can verify your copyright ownership. If you didn't take the photo yourself, then follow the instructions given in c:COM:OTRS#If you are NOT the copyright holder since Wikipedia is going to need the WP:CONSENT of whomever took the photo in order to keep it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:34, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • Wait but those were just in my messenger? The adobo wasn't posted in facebook, only pictured and I think sent on messenger. How'd you ascertain it was from facebook? Ice bear johny (talk) 04:40, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • The files' EXIF data (see the "Metadata" data sections on each file's page) is similar to the type of EXIF data you find for photos uploaded to Facebook pages (see this and this for reference). -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:27, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible copyright violation. It is the same (same reso and same file size) as https://cutewallpaper.org/down.php?file=/21/ex-battalion-members/Ex-Battalion-Wikipedia.png . The website is also copyrighted ("all rights reserved"). JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 11:19, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: Did you consider the possibility that the cutewallpaper.org site actually got the file from Wikipedia and not the other way around? Look at the url given for the photo. Do you see the "Ex-battalion-Wikipedia.png" part in it? I'm not sure what this means, but it could mean that the photo was actually on Wikipedia first. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:45, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Cutewallpaper.org looks like one of innumerable image download sites which just scrapes images from the Internet. -- Whpq (talk) 13:46, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Marchjuly: this is the reason why I chose FFD, since althoigh this photo tempts me to move it to Commons (via FileExporter), I want to make sure if this is OK. Found also an identical picture at https://wallpapercave.com/w/wp2494376 (but this might be another image download site as said by Whpq for the link above). I might withdraw this FFD if this file is indeed OK for Commons. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 13:53, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
