Non-free images in Bill Haley[edit]

Multiple non-free images being used in Bill Haley. There is a free image of Haley beinmg used in the main infobox for primary identification purposes as well as a Commons image of Haley performing live, which makes the use of a non-free image for either purpose not really necessary per WP:FREER. That means non-free use of these can really only be justified if the images themselves are specifically the subject of sourced critical commentary within the article so that the context required by WP:NFCC#8 is provided. I'm not seeing any of that at all. Elvis is mentioned nce by name in the article so even though the photo of Haley and elvis is nice, there's no article content provided about it to justify it's non-free use. Same goes for the Ed Sullivan Show and the screenshot images; there's nothing specifically about this photo as well which requires that it needs to be seen by the reader and the "kiss curl" in the screenshot is visible in the main infobox photo.

In addtion to the NFCC#8 issues, the claims that these are historic photos is also questionable for the reasons given in WP:HISTORIC; the performars and performances themselves might be very notable and important ones in Rock-n-Roll history, but the photos themselves are necessary "historic" or "iconic" simply because they are associated with a particular event or individual. Reliable sources need to be provided which say these are historic images, etc.

Finally, the reasons given for using these files in their respective rationales is also not accurate; they are not being used in the main infobox for primary identification purposes and they are not album cover art. All of the above combined seem to indicate that this is decorative non-free use which is not really allowed by WP:NFCC. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:15, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete all - In aggregate, these fail WP:NFCC#3a as we would not all of these non-free images if there were not free images available. Reviewing their individual use, none of the images are supported with significant sourced commentary and are instead, used decoratively and thus fail WP:NFCC#8. -- Whpq (talk) 13:05, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Source revels - (Dec. 1, 2016 - Source: Kevin Winter/Getty Images North America) - as there is no critical commentary on the image, it fails WP:NFC#UUI§7, and probbaly WP:NFCCP#8 - it does not increase the readers' understanding, over the text that is written.
