The result of the discussion was: keep. Users have long been allowed to have images of themselves on their userpages. The RFC was a discussion to create a process, not to disallow such images, as is clear by reading the comments. Besides there is no consensus for deletion here. Image is not encyclopedic. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 15:07, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Image is utilized in user profile. Non-encyclopedic images are not reason for deletion. Dirtyblueshirt 15:17, 30 January 2018 (GMT)
- @Dirtyblueshirt: It is. See WP:DEL14. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 15:43, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Iazyges: Did you honestly just tell the uploader and subject of the image that the use of a selfie on his own userpage is not encyclopedic? ℯxplicit 00:27, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Yes. The RFC that created DEL14 was made because of the drive to remove the selfies from Wikipedia. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 01:01, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Iazyges: Can you please link me to this RFC? Not once have I ever heard of this, especially when pages like WP:FB encourage selfies. ℯxplicit 01:41, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Explicit: Certainly, There was an initial RFC (both were written by me incidentally) here, where it was agreed to make a new system for images that couldn't be put in articles ever, due to non-notable subject, low-res, etc. It was suggested that we make a PROD criteria for it instead, as it would be simpler. The PROD RFC which created DEL14 can be found here, and passed 18-0. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 02:00, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Iazyges: I fail to see how either of those discussions support your claim that a Wikipedia user uploading a selfie for the sole purpose of using it to identify themselves on their userpage is not unencyclopedic. You're assuming that a file not being used in the mainspace is orphaned (this only applies to non-free files, not freely licensed files), and that selfies are automatically unencyclopedic as a result. Two incredibly flawed interpretations of the File PROD process. ℯxplicit 03:19, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- It isn't that it isn't used in an article, it's that it can't be used in an article. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 03:46, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

The metadata says the copyright belongs to Malaka Nandana. It clearly is a professional work, unlikely to be the uploader's own. Found online, for example here. We will need the permission confirmed via WP:OTRS. Huon (talk) 18:58, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
