These files all fail WP:NFCC #8 (contextual significance). None of them significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic, nor would their omission would be detrimental to that understanding. They are used for illustration, and all of them could be removed without causing any issue to the articles. In particular, File:LG & B telephone MV 02.jpg is in principle replaceable with a freely licensed image of the Kill Bill "Pussy Wagon" -mattbuck (Talk) 21:06, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
- The following copied from a NFCR which I mistakenly opened for File:Paparazzi - Music video - Crutches scene.jpg not realising I should use FFD:
- It has commentary regarding the image, in the synopsis section. I'm trying to understand what it is exactly that you are looking for. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 06:04, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
- There is a difference between commentary and critical commentary. Commentary is illustration, for instance "red cars exist". Critical commentary is more along the lines of "this particular red car is notable".
- Quoting from WP:NFCC: Contextual significance. Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding.
- This particular image does not significantly increase readers' understanding of the song, and is frankly entirely replaceable by the caption "Gaga uses crutches in the video". This means that the image fails the fair use criterion. -mattbuck (Talk) 12:07, 19 November 2014 (UTC) 2014 (UTC)
- Lol you copy pasted the whole thing. Anyways, I was wondering if we can have a consensus of what would pass the NFCC argument here? I will invite @SNUGGUMS: also for his opinion as he recently did for "Dark Horse". —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 04:56, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- If I've understood Matt's rationale correctly, the screenshot I uploaded for Dark Horse (Katy Perry song) is usable since it involves a scene that received critical commentary (in this case, a controversy that lead to the video being edited), and the ones being discussed here did not. While I personally don't see the problem in this case with the images themselves as they're all properly licensed, the captions could elaborate on how such images are significant to the video. "______ in the music video for _______" isn't very informative. Snuggums (talk / edits) 05:17, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- @SNUGGUMS: can you make a dummy edit to any of the article and show it to Matt? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 07:08, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- SNUGGUMS is right in this case - Dark Horse would be fine because there was controversy surrounding that particular bit of the video. For a similar reason I didn't nominate the Alejandro image for deletion - the scene of Gaga eating rosary beads is noteworthy in its own right, and in both it's hard to see what everyone is getting worked up about without actually seeing it. However in the other cases there does not seem to be need for a picture - particularly in the Telephone section as the picture chosen does not really show Kill Bill, it just shows "in a car". That the car was in Kill Bill is not relevant as you can't actually recognise it, therefore making it useless in the context.
- The key in all these issues is that there the image needs important enough that removing it would significantly harm the reader's understanding. The mermaid image for instance - this doesn't really tell you anything beyond the text "Gaga was a mermaid". -mattbuck (Talk) 09:03, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- I get that Matt, I'm trying to find out what would be a better image that passes the NFCC from the video a point which is being discussed critically or controversially. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 10:35, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- The images for "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" I would say directly delete. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 09:14, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

- File:Paparazzi - Music video - Crutches scene.jpg can be kept as well. I see their is a reference of the metallic dress to the film Metropolis. The FUR needs to reflect this and I will update that. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 14:22, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
