Invalid FUR--purely ornamental. The other screencap for this episode is more reasonable, but still iffy. This is entirely unnecessary. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 05:50, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Emil Pollert.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Singingdaisies (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
On Commons there is Commons:File:Emil Pollert.jpg and per Commons:COM:FOP#Czech Republic there is freedom of panorama in the Czech Republic. So I think this photo is replacable. MGA73 (talk) 09:16, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The image you are advocating for to replace the current one is not an actual photograph of Pollert but a picture of a statue of Pollert. The current validly used fair use photograph is superior to the one you are suggesting we replace it with. Please do not delete it. On a side note, MGA73 you placed a comment on my user page and not my talk page. In the future please do not leave messages for me on my user page but on my talk page. Thanks.4meter4 (talk) 22:07, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I used script to inform you and it added it to your userpage because the redirect on User talk:Singingdaisies points to your user page. I suggest you change the redirect.
- I'm not saying that the picture of the statue is the best replacement but the requirements for fair use is that it is not possible to find a free file. You can't just pick the best one. --MGA73 (talk) 20:38, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete This singer was active long before 1923, so we should be able to find a pre-1923 photo that is public domain the United States (and possibly also in the Czech Republic) to replace this non-free image. Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:41, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete The photo of the statue is free, and if that isn't enough, it should still be possible to find an old photo with expired copyright. Thus, replaceable. --Stefan2 (talk) 12:49, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete FOP applicable in pic; so Wikimedia Commons can use it and there is no need for this fair use image. Dipankan (Have a chat?) 15:57, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File:MK Refugees Kumanovo 2001.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Модернист (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Non-free photograph showing a random scene in the context of civil unrest in 2001 (refugees being catered for by police). Fails NFCC#8, just like other photographs previously uploaded by same editor. These events can easily be covered in words alone and are not in need of visual illustration. Invalid pseudo-FUR (seriously, where are people still getting that nonsensical "shows the subject of this article and how the event depicted was very historically significant to the general public" from? Any image using that idiotic boilerplate FUR ought to be speedied on sight.)
Note: this is a whole group of similar items, see the following nominations below. All of them clearly fail WP:NFC#UUI, and together they also fail NFCC#3 (over-use), as they are all being used in the same article. Fut.Perf. ☼ 13:21, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The photograph is very important for the article, as it illustrates that the Macedonian police was giving humanitarian assistance to the Albanian refugees. I really believe this is very inportant in giving a encyclopedical coverage of the events of 2001 in Macedonia. --Модернист (talk) 13:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- We don't use non-free images for "demonstrating" facts. We use text and reliable sources for that purpose. If it is an important and notable fact that police gave assistance to refugees, find a reliable source that says so and cite it. No need for an image. Fut.Perf. ☼ 13:31, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File:MK Tigar Special Police 2001.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Модернист (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Same situation as the above. Random generic picture of members of a special police unit. Could easily be replaced with a new photograph of present-day members of the same unit. No further contribution to the understanding of the specific historical situation beyond what such a replacement could offer. Fut.Perf. ☼ 13:23, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- This photo is important, as it illustrates the facts that the NLA were well equiped. The photo shows NLA insurgents holding anti-tank rocket proppeled granade launcher. I believe this photo only helps illustarte the subject. --Модернист (talk) 13:34, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Same response as above: if it is important that the NLA had anti-tank rockets, find a reliable source that says so and cite it. No need for an image. We don't use images to prove facts. Fut.Perf. ☼ 13:36, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Ok, I am satisfied with the explanation. I have one more question (I promise it will be the last one). If I provide referenced text for the matter (and it is not a problem because a lot of sources confirmed that the NLA were well equiped), can I then add a photo as an "illustration" of the referenced text, or the referenced text by itself is enough? Thanks in sdvance Fut.Perf. --Модернист (talk) 14:08, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- No, since the fact could adequately be understood from the text alone, an illustration would still fail WP:NFCC#8. Fut.Perf. ☼ 14:10, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
