A bit of a complex case. I was about to ask around whether museum rules would really restrict the copyright of this photo, but looking at File:Geocapromys brownii Harvard University small.jpg (on Commons), it appears this photo is by the museum (which is not mentioned here), and permission has been granted for a low-resolution version only. If this is so, I highly doubt this meets the non-free image use criteria. —innotata 01:13, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Theconversationprism.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Stumptowner (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Large-resolution version of The Conversation Prism. File description page says, "Fair use, Creative Commons." It is tagged with {{cc-by-sa-3.0}}, but according to the source page it is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License. "NonCommercial" is not free enough for Wikipedia; see WP:NONCOM. So this image can be used only in accordance with the Wikipedia non-free content policy. But it fails WP:NFCC#3a, since it is of high resolution. A low-resolution version, File:Prismtiny.jpg, is already available. —Bkell (talk) 01:17, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

These are derivative works of The Conversation Prism (see the discussion above). They are tagged {{cc-by-sa-3.0}}, but the Conversation Prism page says the original image is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License. File:Theconversationprismjapanese.png specifically has a CC-BY-NC-3.0 icon in the lower right corner. "NonCommercial" is not free enough for Wikipedia; see WP:NONCOM. So these images can be used only in accordance with the Wikipedia non-free content policy. But they are being used only in an image gallery, which is generally not an acceptable use of non-free images (see WP:NFG). —Bkell (talk) 01:32, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

These are described as "early concepts" of The Conversation Prism. No source is given for these images, but I assume they come from the creators of the Conversation Prism (see the discussion above). The Conversation Prism site says that it's licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License, and no evidence has been provided that the creators have licensed these images differently. "NonCommercial" is not free enough for Wikipedia; see WP:NONCOM. So these images can be used only in accordance with the Wikipedia non-free content policy. But they are being used only in an image gallery, which is generally not an acceptable use of non-free images (see WP:NFG). —Bkell (talk) 01:45, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

These are two resolutions of an image called "The Twitterverse." They have correct source and licensing information; no problem there. But the corresponding article (The Twitterverse) was deleted for lack of notability about a year ago (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Twitterverse), and the images seem to have been orphaned since then, so I don't think these images have encyclopedic value. —Bkell (talk) 02:05, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- File:The-fishermen-band.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by BILZ (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Unused image of a band. The file description page is being used for an article about this band, apparently written by a member of the band (the edit summary says, "This is our Bio"). The band does not seem to meet the notability criteria for musicians and ensembles, so the article does not merit a move into mainspace. —Bkell (talk) 02:11, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary non-free image, as we already have a screenshot that shows the layout of Facebook. Also, this image's resolution is unnecessarily high. Swarm X 20:34, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free image to illustrate appearance of comic strip that also has a PD image illustrating it. No reason given why a non-free image is needed; if additional illustrations are wanted, any of the comics printed before 1923 will be PD-US. Infrogmation (talk) 20:37, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Obsoleted by File:F8U-1 Thompson Trophy NAN10-56.jpg, which is of a greater resolution. Not eligible for WP:CSD#F8 because the crop on the latter image is slightly different. Magog the Ogre (talk) 20:47, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contested semi-speedy. It was contested as the "series' books are discussed in the article"- yes, they are, but that does not mean that reader understanding is significantly increased by seeing a cover of one of the books. There is a general consensus that a single cover image on the article about the book adds significantly to reader understanding; however, this does not extend to other articles where the book is discussed automatically.
