- No authorship info. It is not necessarily PD, depending on who took it and in what capacity. I will replace it in the article with one of the pictures from here. Chick Bowen 00:16, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete – I looked over the source, and it doesn't appear to say the photo is in the public domain. Therefore, possible copyvio, and somewhat replaceable (see nom). American Eagle (talk) 17:20, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- SPEEDY DELETE obvious CV, as image is claimed created by user but obvioulsy a publicity photo that they don't own the copyright to. Ejfetters (talk) 09:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. I've removed the speedy tag and added it into the relevant article (I just happened t be lurking at cat:CSD). All it needs is a fair use rationale (I've tagged it with {{non-free album cover}}) and the resolution needs to be reduced so it can't be copied. HJMitchell You rang? 10:06, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Thing is I can't find that image online as the cover... I think it may be a fan-created cover art image, which would then be a CV, unless a source is found, speedy delete per CV. Ejfetters (talk) 10:28, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Delete. The image is tagged as GFDL, which it clearly isn't, so it is a copyvio. Anyone wishing to make a fair use claim can contact me with details of the tagging and rationale they wish to use and I will restore it. Stifle (talk) 08:17, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- SPEEDY DELETE - CV No source for cover, apparent CV unless a source can be found. Probably a fan created cover with image of unknown origin claimed to be owned by the user Ejfetters (talk) 10:35, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Unknown licensing status. PD-author is unlikely as this seems to have been published in 1924. No reason given why this should be PD-old or PD-Russia. ChrisiPK (talk) 15:26, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Russian law varies from the U.S. law on the matter. Per Wikipedia:Copyrights#Russia:_copyright_exemptions:
- "According to the Russian copyright law of 1993 (Федеральный закон от 9.07.1993 № 5351-1), the following items are not subject to copyrights: ...Reports about events and facts, of informative character." Seeing as this is an excerpt from "Selections from field notes of kurgan excavations in Minusinsk territory", I think this fits the bill to a T.

- WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#1: This image was reviewed at NFCR and was tagged replaceable, but the tag was removed. But replacement images are available at Commons, and the use in New York Yankees (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is purely decorative. - It may still be possible to obtain a free image from someone else. Regardless, "no known restrictions on publication" isn't definitive enough, and the source seems weak. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 16:38, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- The people in this picture are still living. We do not use non-free images of living people unless there is something extraordinarily significant about the image, which this is not. ÷seresin 18:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete only notable because of recentism. J04n(talk page) 04:30, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I've taken a look at some of the relevant policies, and while the argument "only notable because of recentism" is false on its face, the argument regarding non-free images of living people is more persuasive. It is entirely possible that a completely free image of similar quality and resolution could have been taken and released into the public domain. As such, this images rationale fails, and I say it should be deleted. Unitanode 15:55, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete No brainer. It's a nice picture but it's still insignificant. It conveys the info "he sang with Kiss on American Idol" and nothing else so its removal would be inconsequential. (in wikispeak, this is WP:NFCC#8) Pichpich (talk) 18:18, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
