May 16[edit]

Uploaded by Koshyjohnuk (notify). Original nominator did not notify user. Image obsoleted by Image:WLM 80689.jpg.- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 00:25, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uploaded by Raccoontx1 (notify). Nominated on May 5th, but user was not notified, which went against policy. Image was previously used on Pantyhose, but in an act of defacement. Image is now an OR and licensing seems dubious.- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 00:28, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Music of Carmen[edit]

Note: I am relisting these from the April 24th nomination because the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Music of Carmen has been relisted for deletion in order to garner more discussion on the issue. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 04:07, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am the uploader of these pictures, and I have realised that something like the Music of Carmen article is overlong and unencyclopaedic, especially with a link to the score from the Carmen page. These pictures were only used in that article. --Alexs letterbox 01:29, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The page was nominated for AfD but the nomination was never listed. I've listed it now; the nomination is here. These should be kept until the AfD is decided. Chick Bowen 15:53, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I urge that these be kept until they can be reuploaded to the Commons. That the article doesn't belong on Wikipedia doesn't mean that useful images shouldn't be kept for other projects, such as Wikisource; given that they're free (not fair use), there's no reason we can't keep them on Wikipedia until someone wants to reupload them to Commons, at which point these can be deleted as redundant. —Simetrical (talk • contribs) 19:20, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Look like keepers to me. No violation that I can see.--137.198.61.65 19:16, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uploaded by Time1 (notify). Appears to be speculative and original research. Based on a logo for The CW Television Network that has about zero chance of being final, appears to have been made from scratch on Photoshop or worse. Lacking any source information (i.e. actually being used by the station anywhere), should be deleted immediately. Morgan Wick 04:14, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
User:Time1 has provided fuller justification on both the original page and the image page. Which he should have done in the first place (see WP:V), but it does placate my OR and speculation concerns. Withdrawing request. (What do you call these anyway?) Morgan Wick 01:36, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uploaded by Whatwhat (notify). Nominated May 9th, but I couldn't delete the image since the uploader wasn't notified. Uploader has been notified and I am relisting the image. UE, OR.- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 05:08, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll go ahead and delete it since it's obviously obsolete. Thanks for using an appropriate format! —Keenan Pepper 14:34, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uploaded by Nick Dillinger (notify). CV This image seems to be under copyright by the Canadian Press. cholmes75 14:45, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It came from the CBC Olympic webpage for the purposes of promoting the atheletes as well as TV coverage of the olympics on the CBC. It should qualify under fair use, and I believe Shannon herself would be proud of this photo on her Wikipedia bio page.--Nick Dillinger 22:29, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded by Marudubshinki (notify). CV. Fair use is claimed, but no source has been identified for the photo. Star Wars imagery is usually kept on a tight leash. cholmes75 16:53, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's a publicity photo released by LFL. That much is obvious. --maru (talk) contribs 17:50, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Actually it's not obvious. You still have not indicated the actual source. Do you have a URL? --cholmes75 18:10, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uploaded by King Bowser 64 (notify). CV. Tagged as a screenshot, when it is definitely not a screenshot. Additionally, no source is given. cholmes75 18:16, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded by Colinrorr (notify). I am new to this process, so I am not entirely sure I am doing the right thing, but I don't think it's appropriate for us to use a news image from the LA Times, i.e. I don't think the assertion of fairuse is justified. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 19:13, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded by Jibran1 (notify). Picture quality is horrid and you can barely tell this is President Bush. That is, it doesn't add any value to the article it is linked on. Ash Lux 19:17, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded by Baku87 (notify). CV, although copyright permission appears to be given, the image appears to be a scan, judging from the line down the middle from a magazine or something. Copyright notice is not convincing. FrancisTyers 20:10, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
