Anastasius Sinaita[edit]

Withdrawn Clementkuehn (talk) 23:48, 13 April 2008 (UTC) Self-nominator[reply]

I'm nominating this article for featured article because it is:

1) interesting; 2) attractive; 3) well and accurately researched; 4) linked to many other interesting Wikipedia and external articles, including the Bible and Genesis; 5) and the saint is honored in both the Catholic and Orthodox churhes. In fact, it was the Protestants who spread manuscripts of his Hexaemeron throughout Europe in the sixteenth century. The feast day for this saint and Father of the Eastern Church is soon approaching (April 21).

Even Rembrandt thought that he was important and interesting, yet today there is not enough information available about him on the Internet.

This article meets all the FA criteria.

Thank you for your consideration! Clementkuehn (talk) 18:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible to be a bit more specific? What part of the layout can be improved? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clementkuehn (talkcontribs)
The entire article consisted of the lead section. I have changed this, although I do not think that the page is of featured quality yet (but excellent work thus far). I am unfamilar with the biographical articles so my concern is inactionable and I am striking my vote. –thedemonhog talkedits 19:03, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dear demonhog, Thank you for the great changes. You have an excellent eye, and the changes in the format, as well as the grammar, improved the whole article. I'm afraid that I shifted a few pictures around since your edit. I would appreciate a second look by you. Thanks. 71.235.196.195 (talk) 19:24, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It looks good. (And I think that you accidentally logged out). –thedemonhog talkedits 19:25, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment This article is an astonishing achievement for a new editor on their first day at Wikipedia. However, it still needs a considerable amount of work to get it to meet the required standards. I will not oppose it just now in order to give the editor time to consider withdrawing it for re-submission later. I would askl other editors to do likewise. --ROGER DAVIES talk 19:36, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Clementkuehn is the most impressive new user that I have come across on Wikipedia. –thedemonhog talkedits 20:21, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Dear thedemondog and Roger Davies, Thank you for your kind remarks and your sophisticated advise. I will withdraw Anastasius Sinaita for the time being and ask some colleagues for their contributions. Perhaps some day soon it will get up to speed. I also have another article waiting in the wings, which is longer. This experience will certainly help me head in the right direction with any future Wikepedia ventures. Again, it's been a real pleasure working in this environment - especially with such talented and patient professionals as yourselves. Thank you, Clementkuehn (talk) 23:33, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
