Hi Jehochman, I like your work. A few points:

  • You make large contributions to articles. You also take and upload pictures, which is great! I also like how active you are in cleaning up and improving pages. The Doug Heil article is indeed a good accomplishment. You're clearly a serious editor.
  • High number of talk edits suggests you're good about communicating with other users about changes to articles.
  • 1631 edits, low for an RFA, and you make ~150 edits a month, which some !voters may object to on the basis that you should be contributing more. They may also take issue with your kind of low WP and very low WP:talk edits. (Not that I think this makes you a worse editor; I would hate to encourage editcountitis). But I'd hold off on an RFA till you have a couple thousand edits at least, them's just the breaks.
  • You do a lot of cleaning up spam, which is awesome.
  • You're not exactly rude, but some of your talk and user talk edits come across as a little bit curt ([1][2]). I'd suggest being overly careful to sound polite and friendly, since we don't have any of the voice and facial cues you have in person to show you're not being hostile. To be fair, you also have talk edits that are plenty friendly (e.g. [3]).
  • On a similar note, I don't think it's appropriate to have the first warning you give be a spam 4 or test 3 or 4 ([4]), since some folks don't even realize that we frown on that kind of behavior and you risk biting them. It also makes it awkward for the next person if they have to give another warning: do they give a t4 or s4 after only the second instance of vandalism or spamming? Or do they go back and leave an early test message or repeat the one you gave? You may know something that I don't in this case, e.g. this is a returning spammer. You also do plenty of adding appropriate tags (e.g. [5]), so this may have been a unique situation.
  • I was very impressed by your helpfulness and friendliness in this exchange.
  • Good, well-reasoned and polite AFD arguments. [6][7]
  • Your substantial contributions make you an asset to the project. Keep it up! delldot | talk 01:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Review by Cumbrowski:

  • I had the opportunity to edit with jehochman more than one article in the Internet marketing category, specifically Search engine optimization and always appreciated his contributions and help either directly through contributions to the articles itself or through comments at the articles or user talk page.
  • He engages in discussions and takes the time to explain his views and opinions in detail. He is also very thorough when it comes to the need for providing reference and proof for statements that make claims or cite an outside source (WP:REF).
  • He is most of the times as unbiased as one can be, even if it is about something he holds dearly. He does not slip more or less than any other human being like you and me and he is able to apologize and admit his mistakes, either by himself after he had the chance to think about it or if it is pointed out by fellow editors.
  • He does not keep his position in a discussion just because he does not want to admit that he is wrong. jehochman has no problems with admitting his errors and mistakes.
  • Overall a IMO very valuable contributor to Wikipedia and its cause.--roy<sac> Talk! .oOo. 15:51, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am pleased with the Doug Heil article that I started. He's a very controversial figure. Both he and his opponents like the article.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I haven't felt too much stress. I try to avoid arguments by stating my own thoughts, and finding common ground whenever possible. Arguments usually are not productive. "I think things should be done this way..." is much better than saying "What you want to do is wrong because..." Jehochman (Talk/Contrib) 13:58, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
