Werdna648 (talk · contribs) I ran for an RfA about two to three weeks ago, and it failed due to one instance of stupidity on somebody else's RfA. I'm not seeing where I need to improve for RfA (I'm not planning on accepting renoms until late June to early July), but mostly just curious as to what people think of me WerdnaTc@bCmLt 12:58, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, I voted oppose, but it was on the grounds that there were only about 900 article edits and the articles you cited, I looked them up and they didn't seem meaty enough to compensate. I didn't consider your comment on the HRE RfA. Just do some more article writing. I saw that some people agreed with me as well, so articles would be enough to override that comment. Personally, I discount an isolated heated comment as long as it isn't foul, and I think many others would have ignored that also. I understand that some people opposed for other reasons, but my support percentage disregarding that comment (assuming those who voted oppose because of the HRE thing wouldn't have voted if it weren't for that comment) was 83ish percent, as opposed to 65% including the comments - so it would have passed. Erm, I don't think so. You had a lot of objects from admins and well established users. This kind of "well if only for that one mistake" attitude is part of the maturity and understanding issue I raised in my objection. Blnguyen is right - forget about adminship for a while, and work on the enyclopedia. If you do a good job maybe somebody will nominate you again. --kingboyk 13:19, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm aware of the fact that many of my opposes were from established users, and I certainly never intended to imply anywhere that my opposers were trolls or newbies. What I'm saying is that if you discounted all of the votes that used my HRE comment as sole justification, you'd arrive at a clear promote percentage. In either case, your suggestion of "working on the encyclopedia" is duly noted. WerdnaTc@bCmLt 14:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
