Twinzor[edit]

Twinzor (talk · contribs) I've been on Wikipedia for a while now, and I was wondering how the community sees me. My wish is to some day become an admin, but obviously it's not the time for that yet. I'd still like to know if I'm going in the right direction! So far I've mostly been gnoming and fighting vandalism both on NP and RC patrol, and reporting problem users to AIV. • Note: I hastily removed a vandalism edit from this page, and only later realized that I perhaps shouldn't have done this myself. If you'd like to review this edit, please see this dif [1]. — Twinzor Say hi! - Do I suck or rock? 19:40, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • The vandal fighting will certainly help you become an admin. If you want to become an admin, though, you probably want to try contributing in more areas of Wikipedia. Try contributing to some XFDs. You may also want to increase your contributions of content. Perhaps you could improve an article in one of your fields of interest? Administrator candidates with lots of content contributions always get more votes, so improving an article to GA status or writing some more articles would always be good. Wikipedia can never have enough articles, after all. Bart133 t c @ How's my driving? 23:00, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, you look like a good editor that just needs to tighten up on some thing. First of all, the most edits you've made to an article is 6, and when/if you go through WP:RfA, they'll be looking for some dedication within the project, and not getting any FAs/GAs/DYKs/etc. won't help. However, your article The Logical Song (Supertramp) was a good read. Another article that you made, Union Square (Pennsylvania), wasn't as good as there wasn't enough prose in it. Same thing with Cut and run (record label). However, you're on the right track with the second one and I encourage you to expand on that. Your interaction with users with users seem to be very civil be looking at your talk page. However, I notice that a bundle of your User talk: edits are Notification: bla bla bla. For some reason, I think that it implies that you don't engage in conversation as much in the community as much, explaining your question about how the community sees you. However, like I said, your very friendly and civil.(EDIT CONFLICT TEXT FROM HERE) Like Bart said, you should also participate in more WP:XfDs, however, the few AfDs you have participated in seemed to include well-though comments from yourself. You seem like a good editor with great potential, and I encourage you not to do this. ;-) Pie is good (Apple is the best) 23:23, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note: I'll have to admit that the Logical song and Union Square articles weren't created by me. The first one I split into two articles, one about the song by Supertramp and one about the song by Scooter, and for the second one I simply moved the article to correct a typo in the article name. Also, I hereby promise to never delete the main page. ;) --Twinzor (talk) 23:36, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
It always warms my heart to see a vandalism or spam edit get taken down, and so I'm quite pleased with the work I've done on NP patrol.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have not been in any conflicts, nor have I felt stressed because of other users. I try my best to maintain a cool head and a friendly attitude towards other editors.
