TKD (talk · contribs) I've been on Wikipedia since early December 2005. My primary area of focus is machinima, but I will also help out with other articles on video games and popular culture, attempting to adhere to our guidelines on writing about fiction. I've also done some RC and NP patrol and, as such, have built up a somewhat substantial watchlist. I've also spent some time in various deletion discussions (though, admittedly, not as much lately, though I would hope what I have done shows that I'm knowledgeable about the various policies). But I think that I'd be useful as an admin. Although I'm an editor first and foremost, I've seen WP:AIV, CAT:CSD, and WP:RM become backlogged from time to time, and I'd like to help out there. • Hello there. Here is my review, I hope it will be useful for you.

  • Your statistics are pretty impressive. Over a third of your total edits are done in user and article talk pages, and Wikipedia namespace. Also good numbers in image, template and category.
  • Your edit summary usage is pretty high, according to mathbot. They are also pretty useful. I personally like when editors don't only explain, but also add a wikilink to the correct policy, guideline or style guide when possible. I personally don't like summaries from some scripts (JS, VP or popups, in example), because they aren't useful, but at least it is using the summary.
  • No problem with your uploaded images since August. I like the fact that you spend some time adding a fair use rationale, even for those images that you did not upload.
  • Your AFD participation is somewhat low for someone who wants to work with deletion backlogs. I count approximately 49 edits in 23 different ones in three months since July. Out of all these contributions, I believe Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of vehicles in the Halo universe was the only one where you stated something but the result was different. I draw two conclusions. The first one is that you will be reliable when closing AFDs, which is always welcomed. However, I believe you should participate in a wider spectrum of AFDs, not only gaming. I have seen edits in some that were not gaming-related, but the majority were about it. And not many were "conflictive" at the time of voting, in example, where there was not clear consensus yet. I believe you should spend time in them as well, as that will solidify your conception about AFDs.

  Your edits are pretty solid, you have contributed to a large amount of articles, templates and categories. You revert vandalism, and warn users in their talk pages. You will be a great admin. There are just three thoughts I have: you have reported only 3 users to AIV in your last 2500 edits (which I can understand since you may not be RC patrolling directly as others users like Ryulong or MER-C), the relatively low amount of edits in AFDs (being AFD one of the "easiest" way of getting edits in the Wikipedia namespace, as there are around 100 articles put to deletion daily), and that you have participated in only 6 RFA since July. By participating you will gain knowledge about what others request from admins, why some candidates that, at a first glance, may be considered great candidates actually fail, and to build yourself a good "standard" not only for giving opinion but also for yourself, to see if you pass your own standard. My only suggestion is to spend some more time in XFD (not only articles, but templates and categories for deletion), and watch the current requests for adminship to see what others think is necessary for adminship. 1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

   Well, I've contributed to a few FAs in varying capacities. Almost immediately after I joined, there was a push to improve Red vs. Blue to FA status, and I worked with several editors to get it successfully promoted. I also expanded Diary of a Camper from a stub to an FA. Another way that I've helped is through copyediting. I copyedited Final Fantasy VII, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Halo: Combat Evolved either just before or during their respective FACs. In addition, I have one GA, Donut (Red vs. Blue), which I created and believe is a good example of how to write about a fictional character. Outside of the article space, I started WikiProject Machinima in late May, in order to take what we learned through the FAC of Red vs. Blue and use it to expand and to improve Wikipedia's coverage of machinima.

2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

   I've been relatively fortunate in that the regulars of WikiProject Machinima are reasonable editors and are easy to discuss issues with. However, we have had some minor disagreements. One example that occurred while working on Red vs.Blue was Talk:Red vs. Blue/Archive4#Splitting up the character page. Here, a user split the characters page into three. Another user and I disagreed, but I proposed a compromise that consisted of two pages instead of three. This was acceptable to everyone. I also become somewhat exasperated when editors elsewhere didn't buy into WP:WAF when it was first adopted, although I tried as much as possible not to let it show in my conversation and to remain civil. One such discussion is at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (writing about fiction)/Archive2#In/out universe comparison. I intend to continue adhering to WP:WAF while understanding that it's an unusual concept for many fans and to stick to reasoned discussion. I believe that I've been successful in remaining outwardly calm in situations that stress me internally because I have experience as a moderator and administrator of Internet baseball discussion forums,
