SupaStarGirl (talk · contribs) I have been editing for 10 months. I have made just over 1000 edits. I really want to become an admin, but my first nomination failed because I honestly did not have enough experience then. Now I am hoping to become a more experienced user, expanding on "other" contibs as well as reverting vandalism. SupaStarGirl 23:51, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • You've expanded your reach ever since that first disastrous RFA (the only one I opposed, no offense or anything...). You participate regularly in Wikipedian functions, and have chosen a path as a vandal fighter. However, I suggest you get some more image edits and experience. I also strongly recommend joining some sort of Wikiproject to help you focus your aim on a certain topic and to get more "hard," fact oriented edits. Also consider heading after other jobs, such as newpage patrolling and tagging non-fair use/unsourced images. Keep going. You've still got some way to go for adminship. bibliomaniac15 00:27, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • You seem to be doing fine, but please don't state that you Really want to be an admin. Most RFAers don't like seeing candidates who look at Administratorship as a goal or trophy. You must present to them of why you should be granted the tools, Keep up the Vandalism fighting and make sure you always warn them afterwards and try participating in a AFD, or RFA every once and a while. Cheers and happy editing. — SeadogTalk 02:34, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • 1000 edits in 10 months is 100/month or about 3/day. If this were an RFA, I would oppose solely because of that: I don't see a level of commitment or involvement with Wikipedia. I don't have a set number per month or day to achieve, but 1000 in 10 months is clearly not enough. What's up with this edit? And this page: User:SupaStarGirl/Silly Vandalism? And your statement at the top of that page "And, since it is a user subpage, it won't be deleted!" isn't true and shows you're not clear on the policy governing user pages (WP:USER). Userpages can be deleted. Learn more about policies, get involved more and spend less time with these types of edits/pages and more mopping duty, if you want to become an admin. --MECUtalk 17:23, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I have written a few articles. Those are what I consider to be my greatest accomplishments, because instead of a "regular" edit, where one expands on an article topic that already is on Wikipedia, a completely new topic is brought up.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
MichaelIsGreat was pretty darn bad. And then there was the user who vandalized my userpage 40 times. Instead of warning him and reporting him, I made the mistake of staying on my userpage and reverting him. The way I deal with it is to keep cool and just revert the vandal. That's why I made the mistake of letting that user vandalize- I automatically try to revert vandals.
  3. Optional Question from bibliomaniac15 (talk · contribs)-- What articles in question did you create, and do you feel that article creation is more important than expansion? bibliomaniac15 00:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have created articles about the roller coasters Jr. Gemini and Woodstock Express at Cedar Point. I also created articles about Braford and Maine-Anjou cattle. Article creation and expansion are both needed to grow Wikipedia, but article creation is slightly more important because a little info is better than none.
