Stormin' Foreman[edit]

Stormin' Foreman (talk · contribs) I have been here for about eight months now, mostly reverting vandalism. Over the last couple of days I have started to expand my edits in other areas. I wish to know how I can become a better and more experinced editor.  Stormin' Foreman Got something to say? 01:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your efforts to revert vandalism look to be good judgment calls and are a big help to Wikipedia. One thing to keep in mind would be to include an edit summary when doing reverts. Even if it's blatant vandalism, go ahead and label it as such. Sometimes some editors (new and IPs) believe their edits are improvements to an article because they may have the wrong idea about Wikipedia. Giving a few extra words of explanation can sometimes stop an edit war before it starts.
If you're looking to sharpen your editing skills, I would monitor WP:GAN, WP:FAC, and WP:Peer review. Seeing comments made by other more experienced editors is a good way to learn what type of edits you need to make to an article to improve its quality rating. You can jump right into reviewing or just watch what other says for a while. WP:Peer review is a good one to start at because it is less formal, but still functions as a full review process.
Other ways to learn more about what to do is to join a WikiProject. I'm sure there's at least one project that matches the types of articles you want to edit. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am most proud of my edits to Dead Like Me. I had intended to upgrade the article to GA status but unfortunely I was unable to because I could dont find production and rating information for the show. Although my work did clean up the article extensively.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
As stated above, most of my edits have been dealing with vandalism. I make sure to stay away from and not get involved with edit wars
