Soxred93[edit]

Soxred93 (talk · contribs) I am working on getting more mainspace edits, since my last RfA was opposed mainly to lack of mainspace edits. I would like to know what my edits are like right now, and what they could be. Soxred93 | talk count bot 07:20, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

Review by Pedro Hi Soxred93. Firstly let me say that I'm pleased you took your lack of success at RfA in good stead, and that you are treating it as a learning execise. Your edits since then are great (not there was much wrong before of course). Can I recommend a couple of things to consider, particularly if you're looking to run again for RfA.

  • WP:AFD - I see you are making some accurate CAT:CSD tags - why not add some input at AfD? Input doesn't just mean engaging in the debate - you may be able to save an article through some quick editing or sourcing.
  • WP:HELPDESK - as an experinced use you may find you can quickly help out our newer editors there. In addition a review of regular discussion sometimes teaches as well!

Hope that helps! Pedro :  Chat  14:21, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Pedro! I think I have just saved an AfD article, the nominator switched to a keep. I'll see how it turns out. Here is the article. Thanks! As for the Help Desk, I am already helping out there. If you look at the history, yo can see that I am there too. But I'll keep an eye out on RfA's! Welcome. I missed some of those helpdesk inputs - that's superb as I really believe it's a great way to learn, as well as to prove your dedication to the collaborative effort that WP is all about. Pedro :  Chat  21:19, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am pleased with my contributions to Portal:Vermont, Robert Cormier, and Long Trail. In Robert Cormier (which is currently in peer review), I have added a biography, section about banning of his books, and an infobox. In the Vermont portal, I have created a new background, generated a few articles to randomize as a selected article (same with pictures), added a DYK section, added some other templates that many portals have, and more. The Long Trail I haven't done as much work on, but I have reorganized it into sections.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Simple answer: Nothing big. Copied from my RfA: "None of real significance. [Recently], I was in a small discussion about Template:In the news. It has been resolved, without anything bad happening. Other than that, not really. I have not been in any edit wars, no blocking for 3RR, nothing like that."
