Sceptre (talk · contribs) I am considering running for RFA within the next couple of months (i.e. Christmas period) in March, and I would like to see what the community thinks. Will (message ) 16:55, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • For my part, I must, I think, concede that I have been sufficiently troubled by certain undertakings that I think to have been demonstrative of poor judgment as to be unable in the foreseeable future to conclude with any degree of certainty that the net effect on the project of your again becoming an admin would be positive, such that, consistent with my RfA guidelines, I'd be able to support an RfA. To be sure, I think many of your actions qua admin were quite fine, and I recognize that, whilst possessed of the tools, you contributed much here; the disruptive tendency of certain of your interactions, though, can neither be altogether discounted nor be understood as singular and unlikely to recur. Certain concerns that one might have apropos of a prospective admin are allayable (e.g., he is not well acquainted with policy) but certain (e.g., those apropos of one's judgment, demeanor, or temperament), insofar as they relate to that which is immutable, are unassuageable, and I fear that my concerns here are of the latter variety. I gather that some opposers from the September RfA might be similarly inclined, but some also expressed that subsequent months of incident-free editing would militate against future opposition; I imagine, then, that a March RfA will succeed, and I hope that, as you contribute propitiously qua admin, you will bear in mind that which other editors may offer here or in that RfA as regards the need to be, at times, a bit more circumspect.  :) Joe 05:22, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am proud of my contributions to:
    • Calder Valley - raised from 25% to 50/75% on its wikiproject page
    • Torchwood Institute - this is more of a BB thing - after Tooth and Claw, I thought that it was notable enough (with the impending airing of Torchwood Institute. Quite a bit of my contributions are still intact.
    • Edits to Motorway articles - this was a large project that I did solely by myself (i.e. editing to include the exits and such)
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I've been in quite a few conflicts with users. Some were troll-ish, but in all the conflicts where I have been in the wrong, I have apologized to those involved.
  3. Why do you believe that you deserve to be an admin again? Earlier this year, you were involved in an incident which caused you to give up your admin powers. Later, you tried to get them back in an unsuccessful RfA. Why do you think that you should try again? If something happens which makes you have to cede your powers once more, will you try to get them back again? How do you plan to use the mop?--Chili 04:34, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was a good admin with the powers. I did make a few bad decisions, but I'm not perfect. If I did have to cede my powers, I would try to get them back again. And finally, I plan to use it as I used to earlier this year. Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 17:56, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
