SGGH (talk · contribs) Hi there. I've been on wikipedia for a while now, I started off pretty small, writing an article on a name I came accross once in a history book. After that article created a DYK entry I was encouraged to get more involved, and I've really been enjoying it. I've tried to get involved in bigger and better projects as time goes on, and I found anothers users editor review and thought it would be a good idea for me to see if I was on the right track. - Hello SGGH, you probably already know me, but oh well. I have looked at your contributions and I have seen some pretty impressive stuff you should be proud of. And you becoming the 'big boss' of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Law Enforcement, which I hope will become more successful than any other project. Also, you have never got yourself into a conflict with another editor, which I congratulate you for. I cannot give you any advice because there is none to give you, so I will just congratulate you instead!
You have a well-keeped user & user talk page. A polite mannerism. Good conduct and you have put great amounts of effort in your articles.

Questions
- Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- I was pleased with the work I did on the Women in Combat article, which I eventually reworked with help from some other military history wikiproject users into the History of women in the military. I'm also reasonably pleased with my ongoing work on the Mozambican War of Independence though it's starting to prove difficult to find more sources. I recently came accross the Law enforcement wikiproject and have tried to get that on its feet somewhat.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- I haven't been on here long enough to create a conflict I don't think, I'm always careful to sign all my posts on userpages and suchs with a 'many thanks' and try to be as polite and non-combatant as possible. The closest thing to wiki-stress that I can think of is the lack of support from a couple of members for Mozambican War of Independence as a fortnight collaboration candidate, after said users said they would support, however I've never voiced my irritation (little as it is) so I don't know if that qualifies as stress
One Users Experience[edit]
I am a new user of Wikipedia, and a retired law enforcement officer. I thought the Wikipedia might benefit from my knowledge and experience and so I contributed a short article. Instead my entry into this wiki world was unfortunately filled with immediate unpleasantness. If you were to search the Wikipedia entries about me by SGGH (and others of his Wikiproject group) I sound like a major threat to human civilization. I was not the only one being treated this way.
The Wikiproject-Law Enforcement group membership were using the badge logo of the FBI and to me as a new user it appeared they were an authority of some type. My further investigation revealed otherwise, and also activity that appeared unlawful. My concerns were forwarded to the Wikipedia Organization Legal Counsel, and the US Attorney to settle the issues, but not without considerable controversy. The group has since removed the FBI badge logo, and put a disclaimer that it is not affiliated with law enforcement.
SGGH even gave another editor an award for the way he handled the situation.
I made many mistakes as a new user, but I shudder to think what a new user without my background would experience. If this is the way a group of persons who claim they are interested in law enforcement behave, then the future is not as bright as I had hoped, and the Wikipedia will likely not succeed.Patchbook 03:05, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
