RandyWang (talk · contribs) In the time since my last Editor Review (late April), I've made well over a thousand edits and thrown myself into NewPage patrolling, WikiProject CVG and the like whenever time permits. I'd like to run in an RfA sometime in the foreseeable future, so would like to receive a second editor review to see what I could improve with that in mind. Reviews

  • Some more Wikipedia talk edits would be good ;) Computerjoe's talk 16:17, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thinka about others. There are other people that use this, you are not the only one. So THINK TWICE before you post about deleteing something! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.68.102.236 (talkcontribs) 16:16, 29 July 2006
  • Make those CVG notices that you put on the deletion pages smaller, if you can y'know.

(The Bread 04:57, 6 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

I dunno what they're called, but the ones like the one you put on the Patriots article's deletion page, the next comment is always obscured by it
Note: This debate has been added to the list of CVG deletions. RandyWang (raves/review me!) 14:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
These one's, you see how big they are

What's the problem? That's the standard size - all I do is subst them, just like everyone else. :S RandyWang (chat me up/fix me up) 08:22, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well I guess it a problem with the standard size not you, disregard all I said, i'm sorry for wasting your time

  • Frankly, I think you're doing great, dear Randy. It is evident you're doing great efforts to improve you participation in the project, and learning policy quickly, I've seen your name repeatedly at AfD when closing debates these days, and your positions are solid and well explained. Of course, we all have room to improve - but so far, I think you're on the right track. Once your number of edits (a must for most people) get a little higher, you'll be ready for the mop - and I plan to be there when that happens! :) Cheers! • I like this fella, and I've often seen his comments on talk/user talk pages. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and are polite and friendly. However, I agree with the above—maybe a few more mainspace edits—encyclopedia first, community first-and-a-halfth. We seem to have the opposite problems :) I would definitely support you in an RfA (actually, <cliché>I thought you were a sysop already</cliché>). Good luck! riana_dzastatceER • 06:32, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Good job so far (and a nice guy to boot), but more mainspace is required. Question 2 answers on RfA's will be judged based on major contributions to article space (to the extreme of 1FA) -- Samir धर्म 08:31, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • A nice, firendly and helpful editor —Minun SpidermanReview Me 12:43, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Very nice edit contributions and an extremely helpful and thoughtful person. Keep up the great work and I hope I have more encounters with you in the near future. Wikipediarules2221 03:50, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I'm proud of my working clearing the backlog and expanding entries at Comparison of video game controllers, simply because it's something I put a lot of time into (although, of course, nobody will ever care about that article. Sigh. :) ) More generally, I'm quite proud of my writing style, and thus with those articles that I've spent time copyediting, such as Personal computer game, and those that I've created, such as Comedy debate and Point of information. Needless to say, writing style is something I'm very anxious to improve upon in any way that I can.
  1. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Of course. A while back I ran across User:Xino, and ended up in a fairly nasty conflict with him spanning several weeks. During that time, I attempted to remain as civil as possible, and I believe I did a reasonably good job of it. This conflict also brought me into my first contact with WP:DR, which was a useful resource for moderating my own actions and stress - I found that knowing the steps toward an eventual resolution of the dispute helped to keep myself calm. I don't think I was ever particularly stressed out during that time, and I believe I acted appropriately within the scope of my then-limited knowledge of Wikipedia policy. I'd like to think I'll do better in the future, now that I'm more experienced than before.
  1. I dunno if this is a stupid question but, are you an admin?
Not a stupid question. :) I'm not an admin, but intend to request adminship after my (currently-running) exams. RandyWang (chat me up/fix me up) 09:21, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
