Quentin Smith (talk · contribs) Hello, I am Quentin "Ipsissimus" Smith and I have been editing Wikipedia since 17 October, 2005. I am A member of the Eastenders Wikiprogect, and am currently doing a lot of mop-and-broom stuff on the spur of the moment (not following any strategy). I will, in the future, clean up Ill Bethisad and try to get it to GA status.

Reviews

Hi Quentin Smith, looks like you're doing a great job. I see you welcome new users, good work. Your edit summary usage is ok but could improve some. Great number of wikipedia and wiki talk edits, you obviously participate in project discussions. You have around 40 talk edits, not too high, so you may not be discussing changes to articles. Or you may not be making big changes to articles. A brief look at your contribs didn't reveal any, but you do add a lot of small pieces of content here and there, e.g. work on templates. I see a little bit of vandalism reverting and you're leaving appropriate tags, so that's good. A very minor point: don't forget to subst warning templates on talk pages (and other templates, e.g. {{welcome}}, if you're not doing that already). I didn't see any incivility or anything on talk pages, but there also wasn't much talk activity so it's hard to tell about your interaction style. But what talk and user talk edits I saw were fine. I did notice one edit summary that was of questionable civility, but it wasn't horrible and I don't know the history there, so I couldn't really judge. Anyway, overall it looks like you're doing good work, even if your level of activity isn't off the charts. Keep it up! delldot | talk 22:20, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

delldot's comments were very thorough, so I'll just add a couple of supporting comments.
  • One way that you can increase the odds of getting your articles up to GA or FA status is by doing two things. One is participating in the GA or FA process and commenting on other articles. Another is to read the articles that are on the main page every day and compare those articles to your own work.
  • I would particularly would like to see you give more feedback in general, and participate in the community more. You probably have an important "voice", that we need to hear from more often.
  • With regards to edit summaries: Consider going to "my preferences" and choosing the "prompt me when I don't leave an edit summary" preference for a while. I've found it a good training tool for myself. Nina Odell 16:03, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
None in particular; I haven't got any articles to GA or FA yet. I have started a few though.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
No; with exception of being caught on the fringes of a tussle over User:Bling-chav's random RfAs; it wasn't really in my area anyway.
