Mlpearc 2 *[edit]

Mlpearc (talk · contribs · count) Hello community, I am posting this review as I am considering opening my first RfA soon. I am one of those gnomish editors and most of my editing is maintenance in nature but, I do have a few articles to my credit. I am very active at WP:ACC as an Admin, list Admin and IRC channel operator. If granted Admin-ship I would start helping at WP:UAA, WP:RFCN, WP:PERM and WP:RPP. The first three areas is where the bulk of my experience lies. WP:RPP I think I would be a quick study knowing there has to a valid reason to protect a page and in most cases just long enough to deter vandalizing IP. I know page protection is not used as a preemptive measure, and protection because of WP:3RR I would need to move a little more cautiously and determine if it is warranted. As I begin to be more comfortable I would help at WP:AN and WP:ANI. I would appreciate all constructive criticism and opinions of my contributions to the project thus far. Thank you. Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
My primary contributions are at ACC and vandalism mainly in rock music articles. As far as everyday 'tribs I'm pleased with my work at ACC, this is where my experience with WP:UN would allow me to jump right in at WP:UAA. My most pleasant contribution to the project has to be one of my earliest and first "formal" work the addition of "Flight Time" to the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion article. I'm sure this was my first exposure to collaboration, policy and procedures. One last experience comes to mind, my involvement with saving an article Cedar Lake (California) I remember I was quite taken back to think this article was up for WP:PROD. As you can see on the talk I was a very panicked rookie, but all turned out great and also emailed the owners and got some images and releases.
  2. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.
Yes I have, a couple come to mind. This one happened while {{TPS}} I had noticed this user had left a message on FemaleMMAFan's page about "he" was in charge of the area they were editing, I left her a message assuring her that no one had ownership of any area and the back and forth ensued. Here is an example of a more recent experience.

Reviews

  1. I think that Mlpearc is a great editor and a positive contributor around here and I would easily support him at an RfA. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 20:10, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
