Meisfunny (talk · contribs) I have been editing since 28 May 2008 and I recently reached my 1000 edit mark. Although I have a lot of edits in a little over two months, I see I could get criticized for having few mainspace edits. I also created WP:MARINERS. • Hello, I'm Toon, I've not done that many of these, so don't count this as official or anything, it's basically just my opinion and observations. First of all, when looking at your edit count breakdown with the below tool, a massive red flag is your edit summary usage. It looks like at least half of your edits haven't been accompanies with summaries. This is something that is picked up on at RfAs especially (although that is a long way off yet), and you should aim to put a summary on 100% of edits. You can get wikipedia to remind you in the preferences somewhere. I can see that you are looking to become an admin, and, echoing the comments at User:Meisfunny/Admin, I would urge you to wait at least 4 or 5 months, preferably longer. In that time, pick some articles to get up to Good Article, Featured Article or Featured List status - after all, the whole purpose of this project is to build an encyclopaedia, and users who don't contribute large amounts to the mainspace have far less chance of becoming admins - you need to prove a commitment to content contribution. Try to get your number of mainspace edits up to half of your total edits, by editing articles more and your user page/subpage less. You seem to be in a couple of Wikiprojects, so that shouldn't be too hard. You should think about contributing to the so-called behind the scenes work, in wikipedia namespace; e.g. AfDs, WP:SCV, and take part in RfAs too, as this will give you more of an idea of what the community expects in Admins. Try to get experience in key policy areas: WP:N and the sub-categories; the core policies (can you name them?) etc.. So yes, basically, more mainspace contributions, getting an FA is a massive plus, more wikipedia contributions (it aint glamourous, but someone's gotta do it), and have a look at RfAs regularly. • Ah... the wonderful 1000... I remember mine... Moving on, though I'm probably going to echo Toon a lot. Hope 'ya don't mind. First off, lemme say you look like a wonderful editor. Some of your contributions were really good looking; of course though, you have very few mainspace edits. As Toon said, we are here to build an encyclopedia. Also as said above, you're gonna need a little bit more time before an RfA. Assuming you want to be an admin eventually, I suggest you take Toon's advice. If you don't then I would still suggest you expand a bit. AfDs are fun, and really help teach some of the crux of Wikipedia's policies. Leonard^(Bloom) 04:42, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

   I find it hard that any editor would want to make an edit that they aren't at least somewhat satisfied with, but I think I did a good job doing the 2008 Indy 500 results table, (under my ip, more after I created an account) and putting in most driver information. I never have really made any committment to any long-term project or an area of editing, although I spend most of my time currently tweaking Nike SPARQ, which I created, tweaking WikiProject Seattle Mariners, which I created, doing RC Patrol, and editing IndyCar Series articles. I am also trying to make a cool userpage, so I have about 500 edits there, but I do have a lot of subpages. Overall, I think the WikiProject is my best.

3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

   I haven't been in any major conflicts over editing, although once when editing under an ip, I gave another IP a warning, and they were, let's just say, not happy. They vandalized my talk a couple times and crossed out all warnings on their talk. In the future, I would likely remove the <s> tag they placed and return all warnings they removed from the page, but that's about as far as I'd go, since they stopped vandalizing, and are basically "retired".
