LuK3[edit]

LuK3 (talk · contribs · count) I want to be reviewed because I want fellow editors to comment on my contributions. I also want constructive criticism on what I should do better. -- Luke (Talk) 21:38, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
Most of my contributions to Wikipedia is reverting vandalism and warning/reporting vandals. My other contributions consist of adding/removing citations and fixing grammatical mistakes where I see fit to do so. 1
  2. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.
Fortunately, I have not been in any editing disputes or edit wars. If I was in one, I would calmly explain my stance on my edits and collaborate with other editors on what everyone thinks is right for the article.

Reviews

  • You caught a vandalism to my user page before I even had a chance to see it and you very politely handled yourself when it came to the vandal complaining on your talk page, so I think you're doing a great job!Tokyogirl79 (talk) 16:11, 24 December 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79[reply]
  • As your name is Luk3 now the contributions and count from your previous post would not work. Using TW is great and do a fine job patrolling. As so many of your edits are semi-automatic and free of false positives, so there is not much more to say then you excel at your patrolling. You do a great job wikignoming because it keeps so much of the junk from falling to the other editors. Might I mention Huggle as an option if you want to break the monotony? Thanks for the kind words, however I don't have Windows so it's not compatible with Macs. Maybe I'll download Boot Camp. Thanks for your review! -- Luke (Talk) 02:58, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, LuK3! I just wanted you to know that some users have had success running Huggle on non-Windows OSs using Wine. Personally, I prefer using Parallels Desktop for Mac or another virtual machine to run Windows. On the same note, Huggle 3, which will be compatible with Mac and Linux, is currently in development. Cheers! MJ94 (talk) 03:41, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have emailed you a quite long review that goes into great detail, as I take it you are serious about getting the bit eventually and I wanted to provide a deeper level of detail to assist you in this. As always, I tried to be completely honest and do more than pat you on the back. I will leave it to LuK3 if he wants to post it here, in whole or in part. In short, LuK3 is an obvious asset to Wikipedia and does some good work. In general I recommend broadening your experiences into doing more AFDs, article creation and editing simply because that will be looked at when you go to RfA, and honestly, an admin should be at least familiar with all aspects of Wikipedia. More personalized messages instead of templates is also recommended. The work you do on vandalism speaks well of you, and Wikipedia is a better place for it.
