Kyo cat (talk · contribs) ¡Hola! I'm Kyo cat, and I've had thoughts on being an admin, but I thought about having an editor review first. I really love Wikipedia, and to prove it, I almost always skip homework (eek!) and stay home from going to parties and all that.... just to improve this encyclopedia. Please leave a review for me! I'd like to know your thoughts and opinions.¡Gracias, y adios! Kyo cat(T)(C) 01:42, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Heres a review: You wish to become an admin, hmmm? Well, currently, you aren't really in the running, sorry. Yoyu revert vandalism, that's good, but you should use a bit more edit summaries, you're supposed to for every single edit, even small ones. You should also participate in WP:AFD, and other associated pages, as admins have to know this stuff. I'd also advise getting some more mainspace edits; administrators don't spend all day reverting or adding to their userpages, they are expected to edit like the rest of us. You have about 570 currently, admin hopefuls should have over 1000/2000/3000 or above, just my thoughts, though. But, other than that: you're a quick learner, and when you get more edits, participate in admin oriented tasks WP:AFD, WP:XFD, etc. you may have a chance at running. • Sasuke-kun27's Review: First of all, you're an extremely kind user, you're funny, you're a great person to get into a conversation with, etc. With that aside, I'd like to talk to you about your edit summaries. You seem to be getting into the habit of using edit summaries, which is good, but I suggest that, when you're dealing with vandalism, you say "revert vandalism" instead of just "vandalism". I've seen a lot of users who blank pages or add nonsense to articles and say things like "Blanking a page" or "Replaced page with 'i was here'" and I don't want people getting the wrong idea about what you're doing. I also suggest editing articles more often instead of talk pages; you're main edit count is kind of low (just above 150) and I would really love to see it rise. Try editing a wider variety of articles besides anime and manga-related ones (although I did see some edits to band pages, movies, etc.) Something that was suggested I should do is watch over articles that have to do with where I was born or where I currently live. If you want to become an admin, I suggest getting involved in more administrator-like activities. When you get the chance, consider checking outWikipedia:Administrators' reading list; it will give you some idea about what an administrator needs to know. Also, try participating in AfDs, RfPPs RfAs, and even AIAV by helping clear the list when necessary. I think that's pretty much it. Well, good luck becoming an admin in the near future! // Sasuke-kun27 23:40, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Michaelas10's Review: You are a civil and friendly user, but per above I don't think only this will earn you the adminship. You need to participate more in the Wikipedia namespace, this includes AfD's, village pump, help desk, requests for comment, RfA's and many others. It will probably help you understand the encyclopedia better. I also recommend picking an article on a subject you really like, and try to improve it as much as you can for it to achieve a GA status or even a featured status. At least one featured article is usually needed for a successful RfA. Nice edit summary usage! But I suggest sometimes giving out more details, as summaries such as wrong and err... don't explain much. After reading your talk page archive, I suggest you give out no more barnstars: although I understands barnstar are important, giving them out in that quantity damages their value. You seem to make many vandalism reverts lately, as I said in your user page, it is much easier to use an automated program because using it can both revert the edit and warn the vandal in one click. • Seadog.M.S's review: You are very, very kind user. I have never seen you lose your cool...You remind me of the kitten on your userpage! However if you want to become an admin you will have to 1. Use edit summerys all the time __RFAers love seeing edit summerys. 2. More mainspace edits__There are thousands of ways to get this number up...You can click here, here, Here, here and thousands of more places that I can't think of right now. RfAers love seeing at least a 1,000 of mainspace edits. 3. More Wikispace___I understand that it isn't the most fun task...but it is very important, Try helping out Here, Here, Here, Here and other places. RFAers like to see some edits in these areas.

Final Thoughts from Seadog I have no reason to doubt that you can be an administrator in the future...You should wait until early to mid next year before nominating your self, Just work on your weaker areas and I will be 100% happy to support you. Remember administratorship is not an award it is an honor full duty to carry out the rough and tough places of the encyclopedia, With great power comes great responsibility. Until then...Good Luck!__Seadog 17:18, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dfrg.msc's review:I'll keep it short. I agree with the other users on many subjects raised, concise and consistent edit counts are edit important. Edit count to main space could improve, you may want to join some Wikiprojects, for direction and experience. Your kindness and civility to other users is to be applauded. As one last piece of advise, get out there and party, when theres a party on, Wiki can wait. Cheers, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 22:29, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
This is a hard question, since I like all the articles to which I contribute to. I guess my proudest ones would be Freddie Mercury, because I aim to improve this legendary singer's biography (and he is swesome!), and anything related to anime and manga. Most notably, Fruits Basket. I just really love anime and manga, and feel that I can improve those articles. I may also add that my best work here is reverting vandalism.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes, I have (regrettably) been in one edit war, but that was because I didn't think about discussing it first, rather than engaging in a pointless edit war. I promise I will not do that again. As for a user that caused me stress, yes, only one. He happened to vandalize my page right in my time of stress, but I hold no grudge against that user.
