  • I would get more edits before requesting adminship - you appear to have 135. In a RfA most people who comment prefer at least 1000 good edits (see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Standards for the opinions of some users). You can start by perhaps taking part in a few more Articles for deletion, and perhaps contributing to a wider range of topics. Thanks. --Alex | talk / review me | 16:02, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Adminship is not a big thing, and most times only stresses editors a lot. As Alex pointed, I would first edit a large number of articles. Most editors think 1,000 is a good number, but I have seen people asking even more. A couple of months of regular editing, participating in discussions in the Wikipedia namespace (depending on what you are intending to do, in example, if you are going to use admin tools to fight vandalism, you need to be in contact with the administrator intervention against vandalism and the administrator's noticebord. If you are going to be deleting articles, try the articles, templates and miscellaneous things for deletion. Remeber to always justify your opinion, even if others don't. Tagging articles with cleanup tags will help you distinguish between articles that can be expanded in the future and those that are nonsense. And remember to use summaries more often while editing. Maybe in four or five months you will have an opportunity. -- ReyBrujo 17:51, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'll back ReyBrujo up on that: get into the habit of using edit summaries, because they make life so much easier for everyone. Aside from that, you could also try your hand at an activity like recent change patrol, either fighting vandalism or tagging newly-created pages appropriately (as candidates for speedy deletion, wikification, cleanup, expansion and so on). These kinds of activities will do a lot to improve your knowledge of Wikipedia policy, and can really help to get your head around some of the more obscure parts of the process here. Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am most particularly pleased with my edits involving both the JRuby programming language, and the RPG Maker Series. I'm glad that my edits of JRuby helped gather interest in the article, getting it updated, and hopefully attracting new people to the language as well. Also I have used RPG Maker for a long time, and have initiated a complete reorganization of the articles, making them clearer and much better organized.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
The only times any of my edits have been changed were by some users that better reorganized the content and updated some of my information. I always welcome when other users have suggestions, so I've not experienced any users causing stress.
