Wikipedia:Editor review/King jakob c 2

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

King jakob c 2 (talk · contribs · count) I've been a contributor to Wikipedia since August 2012, (under User:King jakob c, you can see my contributions from my old account at Special:Contributions/King jakob c). I've made 5550 edits, counting deleted ones (not that that's so important), have rollback, filemover and reviewer rights, and have written 31 articles, including 13 DYKs. I'm planning on trying out for the mop in the beginning of 2014, so I'd like to know if I should make any changes in my Wiki-work in the meantime. --Jakob (Scream about the things I've broken) 00:19, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
I guess my 3 best content contributions are by GA creation (Fishing Creek Confederacy) and the 3 articles I've promoted from lower rankings to GA (Fishing Creek (North Branch Susquehanna River), Nescopeck Creek, and Chalcogen). I've also got a few relatively good articles (not GAs) that I'm pretty happy with. Beyond content creation, I've done about 200 UAA reports (with >95% accuracy since I learned the ropes there) and maybe 200 to 300 speedy deletion taggings (again, greater than 95% accuracy I think).
  2. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.
I have been in a few minor content disputes. If they don't fizzle out pretty quickly, I find that questioning the other editor on their talk page often brings about some kind of understanding.
  3. What do you want to get out of this editor review? Are you thinking of running for adminship? Would you like feedback on a specific area of your editing? Or would you just like a general review of your edits?
Well, as I said in my statement, I'm hoping to learn what I need to do in the next four months to maximize my shot at a successful RFA.

  • While you seem to be on the right track and are certainly very eager, three months from now seems much too soon to try out for the mop, especially with an edit count under 2,000. Most people won't even consider a candidate with under 6,000 edits. That being said, the mop shouldn't be the focus; you should try to interact with other users and make yourself an active part of all aspects of Wikipedia: articles, AfC, AfD, the Teahouse (I know you already participate with that), adoption, etc. öBrambleberry of RiverClan 23:58, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
