Ironholds[edit]

Ironholds (talk · contribs) This is a sort of mid-term review for me. After a failed RfA a few months back i've decided not to even bother applying until I feel i'm going to get an 85%+ "support", whether that takes me 3 months or 3 years to get to that point. I realise this isn't a place designed for such things, but "you are making (basic mistake here)" reviews will at least tell me what i'm doing wrong if not what I need to do right. Reviews

  • I am very familiar with this editor's contributions to Wikipedia. His work is focused, intelligent and sincere. I am impressed with his writing and editing, with the observations that he brings to the AfD process, with his dedication to maintaining quality control for the project, and with his relaxed personality (it is tonic to converse with a genuinely nice person online). He did not fail the RfA -- the RfA process failed him. If this editor is doing anything "wrong," I am unaware of that. Keep up the fine work! Ecoleetage (talk) 12:48, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • You once showed me the courtesy of commenting on my editor review, so im going o return the favour :-). As per above your edits are of a high standard and I can see little to worry about. Edit summery usage is oustanding and you do not hesitate to use tools available to increase effeciency such as TW. Your participation at AFD is also good to see. I would suggest more edits in the Wikipedia Talk mainspace as most RFA'ers just love that sort of stuff. Overall A+   «l| Ψrom3th3ăn ™|l»  (talk) 22:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Probably the article on Thomas Prince, which took me 3-4 hours due to the sheer number of books/whatnot I needed to reference. It's the longest article i've ever written; I used to focus on getting rid of dross and small menial edits but i've now started to prefer big new 'uns.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
One case where I advised a user who kept blanking his talkpage that, while you were allowed to do that, it might be better to archive it in case people need to reference it for whatever reason and he responded by drawing up a list of all the things I was doing wrong and why that meant I couldn't advise him. I responded (basically) by just not talking to him, which seemed to work out quite well.
