Firestorm (talk · contribs) I have been with Wikipedia for several years now (with a long wikibreak in between), and I believe its time to do one of these. A lot of what I do is just as a wikignome, making sure the machine runs smoothly. Examples of this are my contributions to AFD (and VfD before that), CSD/PROD, RC Patrol, and of late, my adopting of WikiProject Star Wars. Eventually, my goal is to become an admin, so that I can use the tools to do this better. I would like to know if I am on track for this. Firestorm Talk 15:38, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Ah Firestorm, you're doing fine at the moment. After seeing your edits you have variable edits since you contribute everywhere on WP. I liked the way you handled the below situation about the rosters and SvR, which I was involved in. If you keep that up you can be on your way to becoming a good-faith admin someday. I would just try to edit in other topic areas instead of Star Wars. If you continue what you are currently doing, you are on your way to becoming a great user here.--TRUCO 01:49, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello, Firestorm. You are doing very good at the moment. You handled the roster situation perfectly. You seem to have a firm grasp on policy, and you act in good-faith. These are admin-like qualities. You are on the right track to be an admin. Like Truco said, keep on doing what you're doing. ;) SimonKSK 23:19, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think you made a good argument at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Star Simpson and I like to see User:Firestorm#Awards. I agree with you at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A Warriors Trial, but perhaps you could say "how" it fails the guideline. Finally, I am pleased that you have never been blocked. Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Lately, I have been especially proud of my adoption of WikiProject Star Wars. I have updated the main page and to-do list, and created a draft of our new Assessment guidelines.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Very recently (actually, sort of still ongoing), a dispute has taken place concerning the inclusion of a full roster in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 and related articles. Although I feel that the roster should be included, a tenuous consensus has been formed that suggests it should not. Chelo61 has repeatedly re-added the roster in spite of the consensus, and been warned for it multiple times. It was very difficult because I agreed with his point of view, but I decided to uphold policy and reported him to AN3.
In the future, I plan on maintaining my calm demeanor just as I have in this case, and suggesting informal mediation to resolve conflicts, such as WP:MEDCAB.
