Review by delldot:
Hey Firefoxman, good work so far. A few points:

  • I see you got a working man's barnstar for AFD participation. Good job! I'm sure this will come in handy in an RfA.
  • RfA !voters will likely object to your low talk edit count, interpreting it as a sign that you don't discuss large or controversial changes to articles. You WP edits are high but WP talk edits are low, which users may interpret as a lack of participation in policy discussions or even a lack of experience with policy.
  • It pains me to say so, but some RfA voters might object to your sometimes poor grammar and spelling. It has happened in past RfAs.
  • I see from your talk page new users thanking you for your help, which in my book is a really great sign about you as a user.
  • I noticed one case on a userpage archive where a user approached you in a way that I thought was very inappropriate, and you handled it by appologizing and apparently defusing the situation. Excellent work! This shows real level-headedness on your part (and doesn't say much about him!). I found no evidence of incivility in your talk or user talk edits that I looked at, which I think is really important.
  • Lately RfA's have been getting opposed for not enough mainspace participation. Have you written or made substantial content contributions to any articles?
  • You do a ton of newpages patrolling and give appropriate user warnings. Good job!
  • Some users have expressed concern about your use of speedy tags, which could also cause problems in an RfA. Just make sure you know the policies good and well and you don't bend the rules or anything. These concerns are bound to pop up for someone who does as much new pages patrolling as you have.
  • Currently you have "only" about 1800 edits, on the low side for an RfA. (Deleted edits, which you probably have a ton of, may not be showing up with this counter, I don't know). I'd do some mainspace contributing and hold off for a little bit and you should pass an RfA with no trouble in a couple months. Keep up the good work! delldot | talk 03:19, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
    ...
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have been flamed by users over some of my AfD and Speedy tags/votes.
  3. Can you point to some articles to which you have added text? Johnbod 19:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    1. Can you provide some diffs in response to question #2? I'd like to help if possible. Just H 21:11, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    2. 1 Umm... I cannot find anything else that was not gnoming in the last few weeks. FirefoxMan

  • I think you would need to be able to show a decent record of that to succeed in an RfA, especially as you have deleted rather a lot of other people's text, one way or another. Johnbod 13:41, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
