Questions

1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?

   I have done a lot of work on AfC (more than 150 articles reviewed) and would like an opinion on whether I am too strict, too lax, or too inconsistent. I have contributed two articles of my own and made significant contributions to others.

3. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.

   I don't think so. I would not call any of the few discussions I have had with others over editing a "dispute". I generally try to avoid an outright dispute, will first try to communicate and understand the other point of view. I am not shy to express myself either. If I should find that another editor appears to be engaging in an edit war with me I would ask for advice from an admin before responding. One can always fix things later!

• David FLXD was the third editor to review the article I had submitted to Wikipedia and the most helpful by far. Over about two weeks, he worked with me patiently to overcome the problems I was having with the references I was using in the article. In the end, we resolved the issues and got the article published. David FLXD was very professional, very patient, very knowledgable of Wikipedia guidelines and very willing to work through the issues.

• THIS IS A SEPARATE REVIEW FROM THAT JUST ABOVE -- #2: I'm not sure whether I'm taking the proper step(s) to add my review to the one I see already posted on David FLXD's Editor review page, but I DO want to add my thoughts -- and actually can do not much more than say tht what the first reviewer said is totally right-on. I've just completed my first article under David"s "tutelage" and it was his directness, honesty, clarity and -- not unimportant -- courtesy that got me there. Clearly, as hard as I tried before posting the article for comment, I still didn't have the total grasp of all relevant Wikipedia rules/guidelines I needed to have anything close to an acceptable article at first -- but with great patience, David led me through the thicket and I (we) finally got there, leaving me (a) with the pride of having a first article posted (and an eagerness to keep going with others) and (b) thankful for having an editor as helpful, articulate and pleasant to work with as David. And to answer his question above -- David you are neither too strict, too lax NOR too inconsistent. You seem (to me, anyway) like the proverbial baby bear in the Goldilocks fable (if you're familiar with that one down in South Africa) -- "just right." And I'm certainly not really surprised you haven't had any "editing disputes" to date. Keep it up!
