Hi,

I've gone through a Wikiquette alert that I didn't find very helpful. The Wikiquette alert was filed by editors in Senkaku Islands and Senkaku Islands dispute that I had long-standing disagreements with. I have very good reasons to assume bad faith as some of them have a habit of doing WP:DISRUPTive editing and have a history of harassing others with retarded accusations (such as masterminding an edit-war, subconsciously starting an edit-war, etc).

Anyhow, I am not a perfect person and I can be confrontational and sarcastic when I feel frustrated (as you can see in the Wikiquette alert). However, in that Wikiquette alert, I was subjected to much more severe accusations.

Accusers were:

Serious accusations not associated with my sarcasm:

  • User:John Smith's suggested that I bullied User:Oda Mari out of a debate by assuming bad faith on her (which I do for good reasons).
  • User:Qwyrxian accused me of WP:BATTLEGROUND, assuming bad faith, refusing to allow disagreements, and adding bad content to articles to test behaviour to others. He also accused me of not understanding WP:BRD and using a racial slur, which are legitimate accusations but occurred at a time when I was a newbie to WP and never occurred since.

At this point, I will direct you to the Wikiquette alert itself to see the context. All of the information you need can be found in the first two subsections.

One thing I notice is that a number of people who commented on the Wikiquette were more interested in forcing an apology out of me than assessing whether or not the accusations were true. They also refused to comment on the behaviour of others, which made me question the fairness of the discussion. After all, etiquette is often relative.

At the same time, I felt there was a lot of WP:LAWYER going on. Strong languages, criticisms, sarcasms, and bad faith are used regularly in WP and often for good reasons. I used them and chances are you used them as well. If one is to indiscriminatly find fault in all of them, then he might find almost every regular editor has committed a WP:CIVIL violation of some sort. Also, a lot of diffs were summarized out of context thus providing an unusually mean impression when presented side by side with dozens of other diffs of similar nature.

Again, I am not a saint at all. I can be sarcastic to people when I lose patience with them and I enjoy a few convenient puns from time to time. But at the same time I felt those accusing me of violations are pretty much shooting themselves in their foot (WP:BOOMERANG?), through their perpetuation and tolerance of uncivil acts and harassments towards me. Since the Wikiquette alert people refused to do anything but to solely condemn my behaviour, I would want some broader assessments of myself that actually takes into account of what my editorial environment and the events I was dealing with.

Note: Everything you need is in the Wikiquette alert I cited, but the overall assessment should not be restricted to etiquette. Since I am not opening up a formal accusation on someone, I did not feel a need to alert anyone else. If you feel a need to include anyone else involved, then feel free to invite them over (although my feeling is that my accusers will come since they do stalk my contribs a lot).
