  • Draft:Medicalisation of sexuality: To avoid causing issues in future, I would like to ask feedback about the use of quotations in the quote boxes I have in a work-in-progress draftspace draft. Would the quotations used (by Abraham Morgentaler and particularly Leonore Tiefer) be considered fair use? Especially with the Tiefer one, I could not find another quote of similar gravitas in any open access publication, both the quotes in my opinion add significant value to the article, and I feel that removing any sentences would significantly detract from its meaning in the context in the article. I also don't feel confident I can rewrite the key meaning without making original research. However, I have to acknowledge that the Tiefer one is quite a long length for a quote, and although neither quote boxes have commercial use, it is a rather politically sensitive topic and I am not sure if that would affect judgement of fair use. I have read the WP:CFAQ section on fair use, and I am somewhat familiar with fair use outside of Wikipedia, but I would rather consult someone more experienced on this for the reasons mentioned.
It only occured to me looking over WP:NFCCP again that it may have been a bad idea to push the edits to draft space before having the draft go live in mainspace, although I am hoping to finish the article in the next couple of days. If it is believed to be an issue feel free to remove the quote boxes and revdel, and based on recommendations I can re-add them when/if the article is moved to mainspace. @Darcyisverycute; hello, I'm sorry for the late reply, as I see that it has been accepted through AFC. Quote use is tricky, and I appreciate you checking in the first place! I think, that the article has a good balance of original text to quotations, and they don't seem to be extraneous or overquoting from my view. From what I've seen with article quality processes like DYK, FAC, and GAN, they may require less box quotes per their own standards, just something to keep in mind in the future.
